Porsche is taking its brand into the virtual world, collaborating with Feature.io to partake in a virtual racing series as well as ten fictional episodes that run alongside it. The project, known simply as Lollipop Racing, is written and executive-produced by American filmmaker David Ayer. Its goal is to weave interactive gameplay with a unique form of storytelling, integrating some of the carmaker’s latest machines, namely the 911 GT3 RS and the 911 GT3 R. While two other major manufacturers will also participate alongside Mobil 1, they’ve yet to announce their involvement.

Lollipop Racing’s ten episodes will play ahead of each of the ten corresponding races, allowing players to gather clues as to how they can best win on the upcoming track. Rather than using traditional circuits, this series is set on fictional recreations of famous cities. Players will be divided into 15 teams, five of which will receive access to Porsche vehicles, leaving 10 of the carmaker’s machines on the grid.

“Porsche is excited to be part of ‘Lollipop Racing,” a first-of-its-kind streaming series and interactive game that showcases performance-bred cars from the track-focused 911 GT3 RS to the dedicated race car, the 911 GT3 R,” says PCNA Vice President of Marketing, Ayesha Coker
“Integrating a scripted episodic series with interactive gaming in ‘Lollipop Racing’ will provide an innovative and fun way for racing fans, gamers and newcomers alike, to compete and understand motorsports like never before.”

For those not directly participating in the races, you can stream each episode as they’re released. Lollipop Racing will also integrate a fantasy sports experience and reward-driven quests. The first three races will take place in fictional circuits spread across Los Angeles, Miami, and London.
