Plug’n Drive’s EVs are for EVeryone Tour Rolls into New Brunswick with Free EV Education and Test Drives – Plug’n Drive Canada

From August 28 to September 14, Experience EVs Firsthand and Have Your Questions Answered by Local Experts

Moncton, N.B., August 21, 2025 – Plug’n Drive’s EVs are for EVeryone Cross-Canada Tour is bringing its Mobile EV Education Trailer (MEET) and free electric vehicle (EV) test drives to Moncton, with EV Roadshows at various NAPA locations throughout the province.

The events will give Maritime drivers the chance to get behind the wheel of an EV and speak with local EV owners about what it’s like to drive and live with an EV. Plug’n Drive’s Tour is a groundbreaking initiative bringing electric vehicle education and test drives to communities across the country.

Thanks to the Tour’s National Champion sponsor, RBC, attendees can also discover how to earn 15,000 Avion points when they finance their eligible electric vehicle with RBC before September 5, 2025 — a rewarding way to make the switch to electric.

“We know that hands-on testing is a key driver in accelerating EV adoption,” said Amy Lynn Patterson, Vice President, Commercial Banking, RBC. “To support this transition, we’re collaborating with Plug’n Drive to bring EV education and test-driving opportunities to cities across Canada – making it easier for Canadians to explore the benefits of electric transportation firsthand.”

From Thursday to Sunday each week between August 28 and September 14, MEET Moncton will be hosted at NAPA Auto Parts – Moncton Distribution Centre (335 Edinburgh Dr., Moncton, NB  E1E 4A6). Test drives will be available from 10 am to 5 pm each day. Online reservations through the MEET Moncton webpage are recommended, but walk-ups are also welcome.

NexDrive locations powered by NAPA are specially equipped to support electric mobility, offering dedicated training and tools to service and repair electric and hybrid vehicles.

“NAPA Canada has long been a trusted name for vehicle parts and service, and with NexDrive, we’re making sure that our service technicians have the specialized training, parts and equipment they need for any electric vehicle,” said Yves Racette, Director of NAPA’s High Voltage/NexDrive development program. “This includes the latest diagnostic equipment, as well as specialized technician communication tools that leverages experience by NexDrive experts around the country.”

CAA Atlantic is supporting MEET Moncton as the Regional Towing Sponsor, using the club’s fully electric Chevrolet Silverado EV to bring the MEET trailer to Moncton from its previous location in Dartmouth.

“CAA’s research shows that about half of Canadian drivers would consider an electric for their next vehicle and only around three per cent of current EV owners would consider switching back to gas or diesel. It’s essentially a one-way street,” said Kurt Sampson, Zero Emissions Vehicle Advocate for CAA Atlantic. “Canadians aren’t just curious about EVs, they’re embracing them. Events like MEET Moncton help keep that momentum alive by giving more people the chance to experience electric driving for themselves.”

Visitors to MEET Moncton or any of its EV Roadshow locations will be able to test drive their choice of a variety of electric vehicles, including all-electric and plug-in hybrid SUVs, a pickup truck and sedans. This is the seventh Eastern MEET of Plug’n Drive’s EVs are for EVeryone Cross-Canada Tour in 2025.

List of EVs available for test driving (subject to change)

  • 2025 Chevrolet Equinox RS – Battery Electric SUV
  • 2025 Chevrolet Silverado EV – All-Wheel Drive Electric Pickup Truck
  • 2024 Hyundai IONIQ 6 – Battery Electric Sedan
  • 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV – Plug-in Hybrid SUV
  • 2024 Volvo EX40 AWD – All-Wheel Drive Electric SUV

Those interested in the event are advised to book test drive appointments in advance for MEET Moncton, with walk up visitors welcome as well. Drivers must be at least 21 years old, with a valid driver’s license.

Hours for test drives at MEET Moncton

  • Thursday August 28 to Sunday August 31, 2025, 10 am-5 pm
  • Thursday September 4 to Sunday September 7, 2025, 10 am-5 pm
  • Thursday September 11 to Sunday September 14, 2025, 10 am-5 pm

A key benefit of these test drives is the presence of Plug’n Drive’s EV Ambassadors, who will facilitate the test drives. Many of them are EV owners themselves and members of local EV groups and can talk to test drivers about their own experiences with EVs.

“It’s always exciting to showcase a wide variety of electric vehicles—different makes, models, and body styles—to help people see just how many options are available,” said Tracy Miersch, EV Ambassador Team Leader for MEET Moncton. “But what really makes a difference is having EV Ambassadors on site. As EV drivers, we can share firsthand experiences and answer questions about things like charging, winter range, and overall costs—things people are genuinely curious about when considering the switch.”

EV Roadshows in nearby areas include Fredericton, Miramichi, Quispamsis, and Dieppe

As part of MEET Moncton, there will be additional EV Roadshows taking place at various NAPA shops in the area. There will be test drives available on a first come, first served basis (no pre-booking).
