Genesis Unveils Production GV60 Magma

After a decade of luxury, Genesis officially embarks on performance.

Genesis became an automotive luxury household name virtually overnight, starting with popular luxury sedans and hitting the ball out of the park with incredibly popular SUV models, and that’s just the story so far. With solid engineering, luxurious features, and cutting-edge technology, Genesis has enjoyed success in one of the automotive industry’s most competitive arenas. After a decade of luxury dominance, however, Genesis has been teasing and building anticipation for a new era with a performance wing in the mix.

For quite some time, the manufacturer has unveiled several concept cars that have built anticipation for the new Magma performance division of the brand. Not only have concepts of performance-oriented versions of existing Genesis models emerged, but also unique concepts like the Genesis X Berlinetta Vision Gran Turismo. In addition, Genesis Magma is also heading to the track with a new endurance racing hypercar set to take on the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2026.

Now, the Magma division of Genesis has officially been kicked into motion, with the new production version of the Genesis GV60 Magma being unveiled at Circuit Paul Ricard. The first production model to bear the Magma moniker, the unveiling of the new GV60 Magma is the official start of a new era for Genesis, one characterized by high performance.

The all-electric GV60 is transformed with myriad Magma-exclusive features, like having a wider stance, a revised design, and a lower ride height compared to the standard car, along with exclusive 21-inch wheels, a functional rear wing, an exclusive steering wheel design, and, of course, 609 horsepower on tap. With Boost Mode activated, that increases to 650 horsepower. Launch Control, performance-oriented driving modes, wide tires, a virtual gear shift system, Drift Mode, and High Performance Battery Control all highlight the dedicated performance-oriented character of the new GV60 Magma. With a new production performance model wearing the Magma badge, Genesis exits its first decade ready to open a new, exciting chapter and build even more pedigree as a manufacturer.
