At a certain point, it gets difficult to keep them all straight. Some are unlimited charging offers, while others only give you a few charges to get going. There are even different programs within car companies for different EVs. Just because one model gets free charging for years, doesn\u2019t mean the rest of that company\u2019s EVs do, too.<\/p>\n<p>So, in an effort to simplify this madness, we\u2019ve put together this handy guide (that we\u2019ll keep updated as new programs come out) on what OEMs and what EVs offer free charging. You\u2019ll find all the car companies that currently (or are about to) sell EVs in the U.S. on this list. We tell you what cars get free charging, and which ones don\u2019t, then let you know how much free charging you\u2019re going to get. Hopefully this makes sorting through the giant web of free charging programs easier, and it might even affect which EV you choose to buy.<\/p>\n<h2>Audi<\/h2>\n<p><img class=\"grp-half lazy\" alt=\"\" data-original=\"https:\/\/o.aolcdn.com\/images\/dims3\/GLOB\/legacy_thumbnail\/1600x900\/format\/jpg\/quality\/85\/https:\/\/s.aolcdn.com\/os\/ab\/_cms\/2021\/10\/21161838\/audi-e-tron-gt-032.jpg\"\/><img class=\"grp-half lazy\" alt=\"\" data-original=\"https:\/\/o.aolcdn.com\/images\/dims3\/GLOB\/legacy_thumbnail\/800x450\/format\/jpg\/quality\/85\/https:\/\/s.aolcdn.com\/os\/ab\/_cms\/2021\/04\/14055918\/2022-audi-q4-e-tron-official-images-7.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Owners of the new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2021\/08\/02\/2022-audi-e-tron-gt-rs-e-tron-gt-drive-review\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:1;\">Audi E-Tron GT<\/a> are in for a great deal of free charging, as they\u2019re getting three years of totally free charging on the Electrify America charging network. That\u2019s a substantial perk for buyers of the new Taycan-based <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/audi\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:2;\">Audi<\/a>. The regular <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2021\/08\/19\/2022-audi-etron-s-price\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:3;\">E-Tron<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2020\/09\/28\/2021-audi-etron-sportback-first-drive\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:4;\">E-Tron Sportback<\/a> models don\u2019t get the same perk.<\/p>\n<p>The soon-to-launch <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2021\/09\/25\/audi-q4-e-tron-price-44905\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:5;\">Q4 E-Tron<\/a> gets a relatively minor amount of free charging, as Audi is offering new buyers of that <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/crossover\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:6;\">crossover<\/a> 250 kWh of charging at Electrify America over the first two years of ownership.<\/p>\n<h2>BMW<\/h2>\n<p><img class=\"grp-half lazy\" alt=\"\" data-original=\"https:\/\/o.aolcdn.com\/images\/dims3\/GLOB\/legacy_thumbnail\/1600x900\/format\/jpg\/quality\/85\/https:\/\/s.aolcdn.com\/os\/ab\/_cms\/2021\/10\/21161850\/P90422109_highRes1.jpg\"\/><img class=\"grp-half lazy\" alt=\"\" data-original=\"https:\/\/o.aolcdn.com\/images\/dims3\/GLOB\/legacy_thumbnail\/800x450\/format\/jpg\/quality\/85\/https:\/\/s.aolcdn.com\/os\/ab\/_cms\/2021\/06\/01172716\/2022-BMW-i4-eDrive40-rear.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The value proposition for <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/bmw\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:7;\">BMW<\/a> EVs here is low, but it\u2019s not nothing. New buyers of BMW EVs will receive a $100 credit toward charging at EVGo\u2019s charging stations. Models eligible for the $100 include the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2021\/06\/28\/bmw-i3-discontinued\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:8;\">i3<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2021\/06\/01\/bmw-i4-revealed\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:9;\">i4<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2021\/06\/01\/2022-bmw-ix-xdrive50-revealed\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:10;\">iX<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Chevrolet<\/h2>\n<p><img class=\"grp-half lazy\" alt=\"\" data-original=\"https:\/\/o.aolcdn.com\/images\/dims3\/GLOB\/legacy_thumbnail\/1600x900\/format\/jpg\/quality\/85\/https:\/\/s.aolcdn.com\/os\/ab\/_cms\/2021\/10\/21161827\/2022-Chevrolet-Bolt-EV-rear-beach1.jpg\"\/><img class=\"grp-half lazy\" alt=\"\" data-original=\"https:\/\/o.aolcdn.com\/images\/dims3\/GLOB\/legacy_thumbnail\/800x450\/format\/jpg\/quality\/85\/https:\/\/s.aolcdn.com\/os\/ab\/_cms\/2021\/02\/12164414\/2022-Chevrolet-Bolt-EUV-action-front-2.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Owners of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2021\/04\/22\/2022-chevrolet-bolt-ev-euv-review\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:11;\">Bolt EV and Bolt EUV<\/a> are not offered any free charging at public charging stations. However, <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/category\/gm\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:12;\">GM<\/a> was subsidizing installations of at-home Level <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/polestar\/2\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:13;\">2<\/a> charging stations to make it easier for folks to charge at home. That said, charging is not free.<\/p>\n<h2>Ford<\/h2>\n<p><img class=\"grp-half lazy\" alt=\"\" data-original=\"https:\/\/o.aolcdn.com\/images\/dims3\/GLOB\/legacy_thumbnail\/800x450\/format\/jpg\/quality\/85\/https:\/\/s.aolcdn.com\/os\/ab\/_cms\/2021\/10\/08172302\/2022-Ford-Mustang-Mach-E-GT-Performance-front-San-Francisco.jpg\"\/><img class=\"grp-half lazy\" alt=\"\" data-original=\"https:\/\/o.aolcdn.com\/images\/dims3\/GLOB\/legacy_thumbnail\/800x450\/format\/jpg\/quality\/85\/https:\/\/s.aolcdn.com\/os\/ab\/_cms\/2021\/09\/30145128\/2021-Ford-Mustang-Mach-E-California-Route.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2021\/10\/11\/ford-mustang-mach-e-gt-first-drive\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:14;\">Ford Mustang Mach-E<\/a> owners are treated to a bit of free charging, but nothing too lucrative. You\u2019ll get 250 kWh of free charging at Electrify America stations, which <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/ford\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:15;\">Ford<\/a> says is the equivalent of about 3-5 full charges for the Mach-E. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2021\/08\/12\/ford-mustang-mach-e-chip-shortage-delay\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:16;\">If your Mach-E was delayed<\/a>, Ford is offering those folks an additional 250 kWh of charging, bringing the total up to 500 kWh.<\/p>\n<h2>Hyundai<\/h2>\n<p><img class=\"grp-half lazy\" alt=\"\" data-original=\"https:\/\/o.aolcdn.com\/images\/dims3\/GLOB\/legacy_thumbnail\/1600x900\/format\/jpg\/quality\/85\/https:\/\/s.aolcdn.com\/os\/ab\/_cms\/2021\/10\/21161830\/2022-Hyundai-Ioniq-5-331.jpg\"\/><img class=\"grp-half lazy\" alt=\"2020 Hyundai Ioniq Electric\" data-original=\"https:\/\/o.aolcdn.com\/images\/dims3\/GLOB\/legacy_thumbnail\/800x450\/format\/jpg\/quality\/85\/https:\/\/media-mbst-pub-ue1.s3.amazonaws.com\/creatr-uploaded-images\/2020-01\/54209580-4206-11ea-994f-29c893fdb226\"\/><\/p>\n<p><a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/hyundai\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:17;\">Hyundai<\/a> is offering folks who buy a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2021\/02\/17\/2022-hyundai-kona-update\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:18;\">Kona Electric<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2019\/11\/20\/2020-hyundai-ioniq-refresh-debuts\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:19;\">Ioniq Electric<\/a> the same offer as Ford. Buyers of those EVs will be able to redeem 250 kWh of free charging at Electrify America stations.<\/p>\n<p>However, buyers of the soon-to-come <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2021\/05\/24\/2022-hyundai-ioniq-5-reveal-north-america\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:20;\">Ioniq 5<\/a> get a much sweeter deal. You\u2019ll get two free years of unlimited fast charging at Electrify America stations with the Ioniq 5, which is almost as good a deal as the E-Tron GT. You\u2019re limited to 30-minute charging sessions, but that shouldn\u2019t be much of an inconvenience considering the charging speed possible.<\/p>\n<h2>Jaguar<\/h2>\n<p><img class=\"grp-half lazy\" alt=\"\" data-original=\"https:\/\/o.aolcdn.com\/images\/dims3\/GLOB\/legacy_thumbnail\/1600x900\/format\/jpg\/quality\/85\/https:\/\/s.aolcdn.com\/os\/ab\/_cms\/2021\/10\/21161832\/2022-jaguar-i-pace-31.jpg\"\/><img class=\"grp-half lazy\" alt=\"\" data-original=\"https:\/\/o.aolcdn.com\/images\/dims3\/GLOB\/legacy_thumbnail\/800x450\/format\/jpg\/quality\/85\/https:\/\/s.aolcdn.com\/os\/ab\/_cms\/2021\/06\/09051918\/2022-jaguar-i-pace-7.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p><a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/jaguar\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:21;\">Jaguar<\/a> does not offer free public charging to buyers of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2021\/06\/09\/2022-jaguar-i-pace-infotainment-upgrades\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:22;\">electric I-Pace<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Jeep<\/h2>\n<p><img class=\"grp-half lazy\" alt=\"\" data-original=\"https:\/\/o.aolcdn.com\/images\/dims3\/GLOB\/legacy_thumbnail\/1600x900\/format\/jpg\/quality\/85\/https:\/\/s.aolcdn.com\/os\/ab\/_cms\/2021\/10\/21161840\/JP021_014WR1.jpg\"\/><img class=\"grp-half lazy\" alt=\"\" data-original=\"https:\/\/o.aolcdn.com\/images\/dims3\/GLOB\/legacy_thumbnail\/800x450\/format\/jpg\/quality\/85\/https:\/\/s.aolcdn.com\/os\/ab\/_cms\/2021\/09\/28163528\/JP022_012GC.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p><a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/jeep\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:23;\">Jeep<\/a> hasn\u2019t gone into great detail about its 4xe charging program, but it revealed that it\u2019s working with Electrify America to set up chargers at trailheads for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2021\/05\/18\/2021-jeep-wrangler-4xe-first-drive-review\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:24;\">Wrangler 4xe<\/a> owners. Using the Jeep app, you\u2019ll be able to charge up your <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/jeep\/wrangler\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:25;\">Wrangler<\/a> for free at these locations for fully electric off-roading.<\/p>\n<h2>Kia<\/h2>\n<p><img class=\"grp-half lazy\" alt=\"\" data-original=\"https:\/\/o.aolcdn.com\/images\/dims3\/GLOB\/legacy_thumbnail\/1600x900\/format\/jpg\/quality\/85\/https:\/\/s.aolcdn.com\/os\/ab\/_cms\/2021\/10\/21161842\/Kia-EV6-GT-line_41.jpg\"\/><img class=\"grp-half lazy\" alt=\"\" data-original=\"https:\/\/o.aolcdn.com\/images\/dims3\/GLOB\/legacy_thumbnail\/800x450\/format\/jpg\/quality\/85\/https:\/\/s.aolcdn.com\/os\/ab\/_cms\/2021\/01\/19140104\/kia-niro-ev.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p><a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/kia\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:26;\">Kia<\/a> does not offer free public charging to buyers of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2019\/02\/07\/2019-kia-niro-ev-first-drive-review\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:27;\">the Niro EV<\/a>. There\u2019s no stated plan to provide <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2021\/05\/18\/2022-kia-ev6-revealed-details-specs-photos-video\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:28;\">EV6 owners<\/a> with free charging, but reservation holders were given the opportunity to snag a free at-home Level 2 charging station.<\/p>\n<h2>Lucid<\/h2>\n<p><img class=\"grp-half lazy\" alt=\"\" data-original=\"https:\/\/o.aolcdn.com\/images\/dims3\/GLOB\/legacy_thumbnail\/1600x900\/format\/jpg\/quality\/85\/https:\/\/s.aolcdn.com\/os\/ab\/_cms\/2021\/10\/21161844\/Lucid-Air12.jpg\"\/><img class=\"grp-half lazy\" alt=\"\" data-original=\"https:\/\/o.aolcdn.com\/images\/dims3\/GLOB\/legacy_thumbnail\/800x450\/format\/jpg\/quality\/85\/https:\/\/s.aolcdn.com\/os\/ab\/_cms\/2020\/11\/25100941\/lucid-base-1.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2021\/06\/24\/lucid-air-first-ride\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:29;\">new Lucid Air<\/a> will come with three years of free charging at Electrify America stations. It\u2019s unlimited free charging, so you\u2019ll be able to stay as long as you like. That said, maximum charging speed on the Air adds 300 miles in just 20 minutes, so if you can find a charger capable of those speeds, you likely won\u2019t be sticking around for long.<\/p>\n<h2>Mazda<\/h2>\n<p><img class=\"grp-half lazy\" alt=\"2022 Mazda MX-30\" data-original=\"https:\/\/o.aolcdn.com\/images\/dims3\/GLOB\/legacy_thumbnail\/1600x900\/format\/jpg\/quality\/85\/https:\/\/s.aolcdn.com\/os\/ab\/_cms\/2021\/10\/02204742\/IMG_99892.jpg\"\/><img class=\"grp-half lazy\" alt=\"2022 Mazda MX-30\" data-original=\"https:\/\/o.aolcdn.com\/images\/dims3\/GLOB\/legacy_thumbnail\/800x450\/format\/jpg\/quality\/85\/https:\/\/s.aolcdn.com\/os\/ab\/_cms\/2021\/10\/02204743\/IMG_9988.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2021\/10\/04\/2022-mazda-mx-30-review\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:30;\">The MX-30<\/a>, while only available in California for now, comes with $500 per year of free charging at <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/tag\/chargepoint\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:31;\">ChargePoint<\/a> chargers. You could also put that cash toward installing an at-home charging station if you prefer.<\/p>\n<h2>Mercedes-Benz<\/h2>\n<p><img class=\"grp-half lazy\" alt=\"\" data-original=\"https:\/\/o.aolcdn.com\/images\/dims3\/GLOB\/legacy_thumbnail\/1600x900\/format\/jpg\/quality\/85\/https:\/\/s.aolcdn.com\/os\/ab\/_cms\/2021\/10\/21161834\/2022-Mercedes-EQS-450-charging1.jpg\"\/><img class=\"grp-half lazy\" alt=\"Mercedes-Benz EQE 350\" data-original=\"https:\/\/o.aolcdn.com\/images\/dims3\/GLOB\/legacy_thumbnail\/800x450\/format\/jpg\/quality\/85\/https:\/\/s.aolcdn.com\/os\/ab\/_cms\/2021\/09\/02134049\/2021-07-04_Image_D638181.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Only <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2021\/10\/08\/2022-mercedes-benz-eqs-review-first-drive\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:32;\">the EQS<\/a> is out so far (the EQE and other are coming soon), but those who purchase Benz\u2019s new, flagship EV will get two years of free charging at Electrify America charging stations.
