{"id":12742,"date":"2021-11-01T10:24:22","date_gmt":"2021-11-01T14:24:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/autosector.com\/auto\/?p=12742"},"modified":"2021-11-01T10:24:22","modified_gmt":"2021-11-01T14:24:22","slug":"zf-autonomous-shuttle-receives-clepa-innovation-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/autosector.com\/?p=12742","title":{"rendered":"ZF Autonomous Shuttle receives CLEPA Innovation Award &#8211; Just Auto"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ZF\u2019s autonomous shuttle has secured the Innovation Award in the Connectivity and Automation category from European automotive supplier association, CLEPA.\n<\/p>\n<p>The German component manufacturer says the system has been extensively tested.\n<\/p>\n<p>In various projects worldwide, the vehicles have already covered more than 100m km autonomously and carried more than 14m million passengers without safety drivers.<\/p>\n<p>ZF maintains this reduces costs and makes the shuttles operational 24 hours a day.\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cZF offers all aspects of autonomous driving systems: sensors, software and high-performance computers as well as the actuators needed for precisely accelerating, braking and steering the vehicle,\u201d said ZF head of Autonomous Mobility Systems, Torsten Gollewski.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is how we contribute to enhanced road safety. We have mastered the technological challenge of self-driving shuttles with a fully redundant Level 4 vehicle \u2013 based on automotive graded components.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p>ZF shuttles are available now and are able to operate in urban traffic at up to 40 kmh, which the company notes is faster than the average speed in major European cities.\n<\/p>\n<p>Every year, CLEPA recognises innovations from automotive suppliers. In addition to the Connectivity and Automation category, an international expert jury recognises awards in the areas of cooperation, environment and safety.\n<\/p>\n<p>Last year, ZF received the CLEPA
