It&#8217;s a first step toward potentially opening the network to other EVs.<\/p>\n<p>The pilot program opens 10 stations to owners of EVs that accept the Combined Charging Standard (CCS); they&#8217;ll still have to use the Tesla app to access them, an explainer on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tesla.com\/support\/non-tesla-supercharging\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tesla&#8217;s website<\/a> said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Tesla has already been installing CCS connections at Supercharger stations for about three years. However, specific pricing is only available through the Tesla app, and varies by site, the automaker said.<\/p>\n<p>The per-kwh price to charge can be lowered by starting a charging membership, Tesla noted. He also revealed just days later that the company will <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greencarreports.com\/news\/1133016_musk-supercharger-network-will-charge-extra-for-slow-charging-non-tesla-evs\">charge those with slower-charging EVs extra<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p data-pm-slice=\"1 1 []\">Tesla recently announced that it plans to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greencarreports.com\/news\/1133944_tesla-aims-to-triple-the-supercharger-network-in-two-years\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">triple the size<\/a>\u00a0of the Supercharger network in two years. But Tesla might also soon have increased traffic at Superchargers due to its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greencarreports.com\/news\/1133995_tesla-299-a-week-insured-uber-drivers-eligible-to-rent-hertz\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">new partnership with Uber and Hertz<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p data-pm-slice=\"1 1 []\">Meanwhile some Tesla owners are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greencarreports.com\/news\/1132725_owner-suing-tesla-over-supercharger-fees-is-idle-time-part-of-free-charging\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">claiming that Tesla broke a promise<\/a> to early owners in charging idle fees for leaving cars parked at Supercharger stations when they&#8217;re not charging.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Non-Tesla electric cars can now charge at 10 of the automaker&#8217;s Supercharger stations in the Netherlands.
