{"id":13006,"date":"2021-11-05T09:04:03","date_gmt":"2021-11-05T13:04:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/autosector.com\/auto\/?p=13006"},"modified":"2021-11-05T09:04:03","modified_gmt":"2021-11-05T13:04:03","slug":"1134075_first-alfa-romeo-ev-due-in-2024-may-feature-quadrifoglio-performance-grade","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/autosector.com\/?p=13006","title":{"rendered":"First Alfa Romeo EV due in 2024, may feature Quadrifoglio performance grade"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Alfa Romeo has no plans to abandon its Quadrifoglio performance option when the automaker goes the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorauthority.com\/news\/1133112_alfa-romeo-to-go-fully-electric-by-2027\">full-electric route by 2027<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s according to Alfa Romeo chief Jean-Philippe Imparato who, in an interview with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autocar.co.uk\/car-news\/new-cars\/alfa-romeo-lines-hot-quadrifoglio-evs-2024\"><em>Autocar<\/em><\/a> published on Thursday, said Alfa Romeo&#8217;s first electric vehicle will arrive in 2024 and may gain a Quadrifoglio variant.<\/p>\n<p>He said every Alfa Romeo has the potential for a Quadrifoglio variant, as long as the performance that can be delivered is consistent with what the Quadrifoglio badge stands for.<\/p>\n<p>There was no mention of what form Alfa Romeo&#8217;s first EV will take, though <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorauthority.com\/news\/1128335_alfa-romeo-s-first-ev-could-be-a-subcompact-suv\">rumors point to an electric subcompact crossover<\/a> twinned with similar models from Fiat and Jeep arriving in 2023. The Jeep version is likely to be the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorauthority.com\/news\/1133111_jeep-will-launch-first-ev-in-2023\">electric Jeep confirmed to arrive<\/a> in the first half of 2023.<\/p>\n<p>Alfa Romeo will have access to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorauthority.com\/news\/1132835_stellantis-confirms-plans-for-solid-state-batteries-4-ev-platforms\">four new modular EV platforms<\/a> being developed by parent company Stellantis. The platforms are the STLA Small, STLA Medium, STLA Large, and STLA Frame, and they&#8217;re confirmed to offer range figures starting at 300 miles and going all the way up to 500 miles.<\/p>\n<p>Alfa Romeo has some busy years ahead. The automaker&#8217;s current plan calls for the launch of at least <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorauthority.com\/news\/1133804_alfa-romeo-to-launch-new-vehicle-every-year-until-2026-before-going-all-electric\">one new model per year until 2026<\/a>. Due in 2022 is the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorauthority.com\/news\/1121937_2023-alfa-romeo-tonale-spy-shots\">Tonale compact crossover<\/a> which will offer a plug-in hybrid option. The first EV will then follow in 2024, possibly carrying the Brennero name.<\/p>\n<p>What comes beyond 2024 is still a secret, though Imparato in his interview with <em>Autocar<\/em> hinted at sporty models like a modern Spider convertible or GTV coupe.
