The most famous \u2018Ring taxi driver was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bmwblog.com\/2021\/06\/18\/nurburgring-nordschliefe-to-name-corner-after-sabine-schmitz\/\">Sabine Schmitz<\/a> (RIP), who was a legend of the N\u00fcrburgring, but there are other \u2018Ring taxis you can take and Apex is a company the provides taxi rides around the iconic circuit. Joe Achilles met up with Apex front man Misha Charoudin to get a ride around the \u2018Ring in one of Apex\u2019s taxis \u2014 a modified <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bmwblog.com\/2021\/08\/02\/bmw-f80-m3-cs-the-ultimate-long-term-review-4k-video\/\">F80 BMW M3<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The F80 M3 was build by Team Schirmer, who are experts at building BMWs for the N\u00fcrburgring, and it\u2019s properly set up. Everything about the suspension and chassis have been modified specifically for N\u00fcrburgring-duty. The suspension, trailing arms, control arms, rear diff, axles, brakes, wheels, and tires, were all modified to \u2018Ring use and it shows. Pittard is not only a pro driver but he\u2019s also an Apex N\u00fcrburgring taxi driver, so he knows the \u2018Ring about as well as anyone and it shows. He\u2019s able to push the M3 to the absolute limit, go nearly rubber-to-rubber with other cars, and manage simply insane speeds through corners, all while narrating the lap and looking as cool as a cucumber.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ve never been to the \u2018Ring before but I\u2019ve been driven around by pro drivers on race tracks before and their ability to drive at speeds us normies can barely even imagine, without ever breaking a sweat, is astonishing. That ability is cranked up to eleven in this video, as the \u2018Ring is an entirely different animal than the tracks I\u2019ve been on.
