{"id":13072,"date":"2021-11-07T09:04:56","date_gmt":"2021-11-07T14:04:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/autosector.com\/auto\/?p=13072"},"modified":"2021-11-07T09:04:56","modified_gmt":"2021-11-07T14:04:56","slug":"ford-f150-lightning-2021-sema","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/autosector.com\/?p=13072","title":{"rendered":"See Ford F-150 Lightning At 2021 SEMA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The upcoming first all-electric pickup from Ford &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/ford\/f-150-ev\/\">Ford F-150 Lightning<\/a> &#8211; was displayed in its top-of-the-line Platinum version at the 2021 SEMA Show in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n<p>For all those that did not have an opportunity to see it live, here is a quick overview with <em>DriveItOut<\/em> and a usual walkthough tour with <em>AutoMotoTube<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The Ford F-150 Lightning has been\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/533616\/ford-begins-preproduction-f150-lightning\/\">in the pre-production stage since September<\/a> and since\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/545279\/ford-f150-lightning-reservations-160000\/\">the company has more than 160,000 reservations<\/a>, series-production should start within several months &#8211; in Spring 2022.<\/p>\n<section contenteditable=\"false\" draggable=\"true\" data-widget=\"video\" data-url-params=\"\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"sizer\" draggable=\"false\" src=\"data:image\/png;base64,iVBORw0KGgoAAAANSUhEUgAAABAAAAAJCAYAAAA7KqwyAAAAGXRFWHRTb2Z0d2FyZQBBZG9iZSBJbWFnZVJlYWR5ccllPAAAABpJREFUeNpi\/P\/\/PwMlgImBQjBqwLAwACDAAOVfAw9\/ZDvcAAAAAElFTkSuQmCC\" alt=\"\"\/> <\/p>\n<p><iframe width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/3seYYv2ZZIs\" data-src-param=\"\">[embedded content]<\/iframe><\/p>\n<\/section>\n<p>In August, we saw <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/529736\/ford-f150-lightning-rolling-chassis\/\">the rolling chassis of the Ford F-150 Lightning<\/a>, with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup (one motor per axle) and batteries located inside the frame.<\/p>\n<p>Ford doesn&#8217;t reveal the battery capacity of the packs, but there will be two options:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Standard-Range Battery<\/strong> with expected EPA range of <strong>230 miles (370 km)<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Extended-Range Battery<\/strong> with expected EPA range of <strong>300 miles (483 km)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/508674\/battery-capacity-ford-f150-lightning\/\">We estimate it<\/a> at <strong>115 kWh<\/strong> <strong>net\/125 kWh total in the Standard-Range Battery<\/strong> version and <strong>155 kWh net\/170 kWh<\/strong> in the Extended-Range Battery version (<a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/508686\/ford-f150-lightning-specs-prices\/\">see specs here<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>Aside from the general consumer versio,n there will also be a <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/509124\/ford-f150-lightning-pro-commercial\/\">Ford F-150 Lightning Pro version for businesses<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Ford F-150 Lightning will have a lot of very interesting features (<a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/508818\/top-features-ford-f150-lightning\/\">see some of the top ones listed here<\/a>), including Mega Power Frunk, <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/508802\/ford-f150-lightning-outlets-backup\/\">power outlets and power export capability<\/a>, a towing and hauling range estimator and more.<\/p>\n<p>With the high interest in the F-150 Lightning, Ford is expected to struggle with production constraints, but that&#8217;s actually something that we are accustomed to in the EV market.
