Sisters and Brothers,<\/p>\n

This Veterans Day across our great nation, we honor the proud individuals who served our country. We remember the men and women, and their families, who have made the ultimate sacrifice during wartime, those who made it through, and those who gave of their time and commitment during peacetime. We will again remember the willingness and sacrifice of America\u2019s veterans who served our country \u2014 service that deserves our lasting gratitude.<\/p>\n

On this special day we are always mindful that while this holiday is about commemoration and reflection, it is also very much about renewing and ever investing in our nation\u2019s solemn duty to care for our service members and to ensure they receive the resources they need. That commitment to those who have served does not and must not end when their service ends and they return home. In this, the UAW will continue to stand tall for our veteran members\u2019 benefits, opportunities and
welfare.<\/p>\n

Our union has a proud history of commitment to helping our nation\u2019s veterans, both at the local level and through our Veterans Standing Committees. Our union sisters and brothers who served are also America\u2019s sisters and brothers. We will never forget their bravery and dedication.<\/p>\n

I wish our entire UAW family an enjoyable day and ask that we all take some time to reflect on today\u2019s meaning. For those members who have served, who have made peace possible and have fought bravely for America\u2019s freedoms, we thank you for your service and your sacrifice.<\/p>\n
