This isn&#8217;t the first time such <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/category\/rumormill\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:6;\">rumors<\/a> have come up, and it probably won&#8217;t be the last \u2013 unless it&#8217;s true, of course.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>As <em>Autoblog<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2020\/08\/03\/toyota-supra-manual-transmision-report\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:7;\">previously reported<\/a>, the coming <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/bmw\/m3\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:8;\">BMW M3<\/a>\u00a0and <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/bmw\/m4\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:9;\">M4<\/a> will offer a manual transmission with lower-powered trims of the S58 engine, so it&#8217;s possible the unicorn limited-edition Supra does the same. On the other hand,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2019\/05\/22\/bmw-z4-manual-transmission-supra\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:10;\" data-rapid_p=\"36\" data-v9y=\"1\">last May BMW announced<\/a>\u00a0a manual transmission for the new\u00a0<a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/bmw\/z4\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:11;\">Z4<\/a>\u00a0in Europe, that roadster powered by the low-output version of the same 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder sold in the Z4 and the Supra here. Hence the Supra could get a stick shift, but one mated to a four-cylinder and not the six.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gearpatrol.com\/cars\/a33445187\/toyota-supra-manual-transmission-could-be-coming\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:12;\" data-rapid_p=\"38\" data-v9y=\"1\">A left-field option<\/a>\u00a0mentioned elsewhere has <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/toyota\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:13;\">Toyota<\/a> securing the 405-hp S55 inline-six from the current <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/bmw\/m2\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:14;\">M2<\/a> Competition, along with that car&#8217;s six-speed manual, considering the <a
