It certainly looks more modern than its smaller sibling\u2014both SUVs are designed by <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/426057\/vinfast-pininfarina-designed-ev-sales-us-2021\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"0\" data-params=\"%7B%22article_edition_id%22%3A%22426057%22%2C%22section%22%3A%221%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%22vinfast-pininfarina-designed-ev-sales-us-2021%22%7D\">Pininfarina<\/a>, by the way.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The VF e36 features air curtains in the hood and front end to redirect air from high drag areas, flush door handles, glass and trim, as well as a sloping roofline and tapering side glass. All these features make it more aerodynamic and therefore contribute to an extended range.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>No powertrain specs were mentioned in the press release or the press conference (see video above), but VinFast&#8217;s website quotes a range of up to 500 km (310 miles) for the VF e35 and 550 km (342 miles) for the VF e36. These vehicles will do so while meeting safety standards and delivering superior and comfortable driving experiences.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Michael Lohscheller, CEO of VinFast Global<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>VinFast was also joined at the LA Auto Show by VinAI, Vantix and VinBigData, members of parent company Vingroup\u2019s technological ecosystem. These companies are said to be leaders in Vietnam\u2019s artificial intelligence research, solutions and services sector, providing VinFast with \u201c<em>significant competitive advantages<\/em>\u201d when it comes to smart features, ADAS and virtual assistant.<\/p>\n<p>The official introduction of the VinFast EV brand at the <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/548673\/kia-unveils-concept-ev9-300miles\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"0\" data-params=\"%7B%22article_edition_id%22%3A%22548673%22%2C%22section%22%3A%221%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%22kia-unveils-concept-ev9-300miles%22%7D\">LA Auto Show<\/a> is the first step in the carmaker\u2019s expansion strategy.
