It\u2019s too long of a story to tell here, but it involves ice cream. The best thing about the mall was leaving and running into a couple SOLOs.<\/p>\n<section contenteditable=\"false\" draggable=\"true\" data-widget=\"special_image\" data-align=\"center\">\n<div class=\"spi_wrapper\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"custom-image\" draggable=\"false\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.motor1.com\/images\/custom\/electrameccanica-solo-ev.JPG\" alt=\"external_image\" width=\"16\" height=\"9\"\/><\/div>\n<\/section>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/2022\/02\/15\/electrameccanica-partners-with-self-driving-startup-to-test-autonomous-food-deliveries-and-rides-on-demand-via-solo-ev-pilot-program\/\" rel=\"\">ElectraMeccanica<\/a> has partnered with <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/category\/autonomous-vehicles\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"8\" data-params=\"%7B%22section_route%22%3A%22news%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%22autonomous-vehicles%22%7D\">autonomous technology<\/a> company Faction Technology, Inc. to offer ElectraMeccanica\u2019s SOLO EVs to a pilot program where Faction\u2019s autonomous platform can be tested for food deliveries. <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/tag\/electra-meccanica\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"7\" data-params=\"%7B%22tag%22%3A%22ElectraMeccanica%22%2C%22originalTitle%22%3A%22Electra%20Meccanica%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%22electra-meccanica%22%7D\">ElectraMeccanica<\/a> will offer 24 of its SOLO EVs over the course of 2022 for Faction to test out the self-driving technology. I know, I know, it\u2019s only simulated, but <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/toyota\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"2\" data-params=\"%7B%22alias%22%3A%22toyota%22%7D\">Toyota<\/a> says it will feel very similar to driving an ICE vehicle.\u00a0This will allow Toyota to blend the new tech of EVs with the old-school feel of manual transmissions.<\/p>\n<p>In more news, <a href=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/2022\/02\/14\/toyota-images-possible-new-lexus-electric-sports-cars\/\" rel=\"\">Toyota<\/a> has given the world another sneak peek of the \u201cpossible\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/lexus\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"2\" data-params=\"%7B%22alias%22%3A%22lexus%22%7D\">Lexus<\/a> electric sports vehicles. Toyota boasts that the vehicle has 430 miles of <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/category\/range-efficiency\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"8\" data-params=\"%7B%22section_route%22%3A%22news%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%22range-efficiency%22%7D\">range<\/a>, but doesn\u2019t give much more info than that. In the EV world, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2022\/2\/15\/22934863\/mercedes-benz-amg-eqe-electric-sedan-ev\" rel=\"\">Mercedes <\/a>announced the AMG EQE, a high-performance EV modeled after the company\u2019s electric E-class sedan.<\/p>\n<p>The AMG EQE with the Dynamic Plus package will launch from 0-60 mph in 3.2 seconds and can reach a top speed of 149 mph. The EQE with the Dynamic Plus will have dual motors and produce 677 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque. Throw a big wing on it like the GT Black Series and I\u2019m sold. Nearly 6.5 million <a href=\"https:\/\/www.techradar.com\/news\/global-ev-sales-up-109-in-2021-65-million-evs-were-sold\" rel=\"\">EVs were sold worldwide<\/a> in 2021, up 109% from 2020 and accounting for 9% of all passenger vehicle sales. <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/tesla\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"2\" data-params=\"%7B%22alias%22%3A%22tesla%22%7D\">Tesla<\/a> is leading the way with 14% of all <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/category\/sales\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"8\" data-params=\"%7B%22section_route%22%3A%22news%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%22sales%22%7D\">EV sales<\/a>. The leading country with over 3.2 million EVs sold? <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/category\/china\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"8\" data-params=\"%7B%22section_route%22%3A%22news%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%22china%22%7D\">China<\/a>, of course. Can\u2019t wait to see what 2022 brings.
