And in spite of its Chinese and Indian market roots, the Dacia Spring is proving surprisingly popular in Europe (46,000 orders so far) where it is the cheapest EV that is actually a real car, not a quadricycle.<\/p>\n<p>Now during Renault\u2019s yesterday financial results conference, company CEO Luca de Meo confirmed that a new Spring is in the works and that it will debut in 2024. It won\u2019t be related to the <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/488767\/2011-rendering-anticipates-renault-4-ev\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"0\" data-params=\"%7B%22article_edition_id%22%3A%22488767%22%2C%22section%22%3A%221%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%222011-rendering-anticipates-renault-4-ev%22%7D\">Renault 4<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/466193\/renault-5-prototype-retro-ev-concept\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"0\" data-params=\"%7B%22article_edition_id%22%3A%22466193%22%2C%22section%22%3A%221%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%22renault-5-prototype-retro-ev-concept%22%7D\">Renault 5<\/a> models (built on the CMF-B platform), but it will be its own model (built upon CMF-A), not another rebadged Chinese import.<\/p>\n<p>The Spring will likely stay the same size for its next generation, although it will probably grow in width &#8211; the current model is kei car-sized, especially when it comes to shoulder room inside. The French automaker will launch four Renault-badged EVs and one wearing an Alpine badge.
