It will go on sale in the fall of 2023 with a starting price of around $30,000.<\/p>\n<p>Barra also confirmed plans for an electric version of the bigger Chevrolet Blazer crossover during her CES presentation. We&#8217;ve since learned that the electric Blazer will also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorauthority.com\/news\/1135267_electric-2024-chevrolet-blazer-ss-teased-arrives-spring-of-2023\">have a sporty SS variant<\/a>. The electric Blazer is also due in 2023.<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/8dl58DG5BYc\" width=\"560\" height=\"500\" frameborder=\"0\">[embedded content]<\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Notably, the Equinox EV sports an attractive design, with a thin upper light strip up front and two lights below in a closed off maw that looks like a grille. Flared fenders up front with wide haunches at the rear give it an athletic stance, and the blunt rear roofline provides a different look than the typical crossover.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s unclear how much range the Equinox EV will have, though it will ride on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorauthority.com\/news\/1127337_gm-s-third-gen-ev-platform-and-ultium-batteries-promise-400-plus-miles-of-range\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">GM&#8217;s Ultium platform<\/a>. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorauthority.com\/news\/1127337_gm-s-third-gen-ev-platform-and-ultium-batteries-promise-400-plus-miles-of-range\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ultium platform and batteries<\/a> are capable of more than 400 miles of range in the right applications (depending on vehicle size and battery pack), according to GM.<\/p>\n<p>Given the mass-market nature of the Equinox, and the aggressive price point, the Equinox EV might run on the Ultium&#8217;s 400-volt electrical architecture with fast-charging capability of up to (and possibly over) 200 kilowatts.<\/p>\n<div class=\"image_wrapper first_wrapper\" readability=\"7\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" name=\"tccimg_100822955_m\" title=\"2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV teaser\" src=\"data:image\/png;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAD\/ACwAAAAAAQABAAACADs=\" alt=\"2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV teaser\" width=\"640\" height=\"275\" class=\"first_image lazy\" data-width=\"1024\" data-height=\"441\" data-url=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/lrg\/chevrolet-equinox_100822955_l.jpg\" data-src-h=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/hug\/chevrolet-equinox_100822955_h.jpg\" data-src=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/lrg\/chevrolet-equinox_100822955_l.jpg\" data-src-l=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/lrg\/chevrolet-equinox_100822955_l.jpg\" data-src-m=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/med\/chevrolet-equinox_100822955_m.jpg\" data-src-s=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/sml\/chevrolet-equinox_100822955_s.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV teaser<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Ultium batteries range in capacity from 50-200 kilowatt-hours, with the largest vehicles such as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorauthority.com\/news\/1134545_2024-chevy-silverado-ev-coming-with-664-hp-400-miles-of-range\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Chevrolet Silverado EV<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorauthority.com\/news\/1129566_2022-gmc-hummer-ev-price-specs-review-photos-info\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">GMC Hummer EV<\/a> running the largest 200-kwh packs, while the Cadillac Lyric will launch with a 100-kwh pack.<\/p>\n<p>Inside, the Equinox EV will share its technology and design with the Silverado EV, including what appears to be the 11.0-inch digital instrument cluster and a 17.0-inch center touchscreen.
