It&#8217;s also the first manifestation of the &#8220;American-made&#8221; battery production that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greencarreports.com\/news\/1133897_battery-venture-batteries-electric-ram-pickup-dodge-muscle-car\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Stellantis confirmed several months ago<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"image_wrapper first_wrapper\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" name=\"tccimg_100822784_m\" title=\"Chrysler Airflow concept\" src=\"data:image\/png;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAD\/ACwAAAAAAQABAAACADs=\" alt=\"Chrysler Airflow concept\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" class=\"first_image lazy\" data-width=\"1024\" data-height=\"576\" data-url=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/lrg\/chrysler-airflow-concept_100822784_l.jpg\" data-src-h=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/hug\/chrysler-airflow-concept_100822784_h.jpg\" data-src=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/lrg\/chrysler-airflow-concept_100822784_l.jpg\" data-src-l=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/lrg\/chrysler-airflow-concept_100822784_l.jpg\" data-src-m=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/med\/chrysler-airflow-concept_100822784_m.jpg\" data-src-s=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/sml\/chrysler-airflow-concept_100822784_s.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Chrysler Airflow concept<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The Canadian battery plant complements a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greencarreports.com\/news\/1133685_with-mercedes-benz-stellantis-battery-venture-for-europe-more-than-doubles\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">battery joint venture for Europe<\/a> involving Mercedes-Benz and Automotive Cells Company (ACC), which was formed by Stellantis predecessor PSA Group and France&#8217;s TotalEnergies (with Mercedes as a partner). Stellantis and Mercedes have also both invested in U.S.-based solid-state battery firm Factorial Energy.<\/p>\n<p>The selection of Windsor as the site all but confirms the existing Stellantis assembly plant in the Canadian city as the production location for Jeep, Ram, Chrysler, and\/or Dodge EVs. Stellantis has teased EVs for each of these brands, as well as dedicated EV platforms allowing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greencarreports.com\/news\/1132846_dodge-and-jeep-parent-is-targeting-500-mile-range-2-0-second-0-60-mph-for-future-evs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">up to 500 miles of range<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p data-pm-slice=\"1 1 []\">An electric Ram 1500 pickup and Dodge muscle car are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greencarreports.com\/news\/1132841_fully-electric-ram-1500-pickup-and-dodge-muscle-car-both-due-by-2024-part-of-35b-ev-push\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">part of the plan<\/a>, both due by 2024. Jeep&#8217;s first EV is scheduled to arrive in 2023, to be followed by multiple models for global markets. One of these upcoming Stellantis electric models might also be from Chrysler.
