In total, the recall count between the two we\u2019ll cover here is just over 737,000 vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>First up, we have a recall issued for certain 2020-2022 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2022\/01\/26\/2022-ford-escape-review\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:2;\">Ford Escapes<\/a> and certain 2021-2022 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2021\/11\/16\/2022-ford-bronco-sport-review\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:3;\">Ford Bronco Sports<\/a>. Only versions of these models with the 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder are included in the recall, and the final tally is 345,451 cars between the two models.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>These cars are being recalled due to a potential oil leak issue. Ford\u2019s recall documents explain that the engine oil separator housing installed on these vehicles \u201cmay crack and develop an oil leak.\u201d If this happens, Ford says the leaking oil could leak onto other engine components, increasing the risk of an engine fire. Ford isn\u2019t aware of any injuries or deaths as a result of the oil leak issue. The recall procedure will involve Ford <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/car-dealers\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:4;\">dealers<\/a> inspecting the oil separator for damage, and replacing it free of charge if needed. Owner notifications are meant to begin on April 18.<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"grp-full lazy\" alt=\"\" data-original=\"https:\/\/o.aolcdn.com\/images\/dims3\/GLOB\/legacy_thumbnail\/1600x900\/format\/jpg\/quality\/85\/https:\/\/s.aolcdn.com\/os\/ab\/_cms\/2022\/04\/01102733\/2021-Ford-F-150-Super-Crew-Platinum-PHEV-front.jpeg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The second recall covers <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/truck\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:5;\">trucks<\/a> and SUVs across a wide spectrum for Ford, as it\u2019s all to do with the trailer <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/tag\/brakes\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:6;\">braking<\/a> software installed to these vehicles. Affected vehicles include the 2021-2022 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2021\/11\/01\/2022-ford-f-150-review\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:7;\">Ford F-150<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2021\/11\/12\/2022-ford-maverick-review\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:8;\">2022 Ford Maverick<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2021\/09\/21\/2022-ford-expedition-reveal-timberline-stealth-edition-blue-cruise\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:9;\">2022 Ford Expedition<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2022\/03\/04\/2022-lincoln-navigator-first-drive\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:10;\">2022 Lincoln Navigator<\/a> and many levels of 2022 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2021\/03\/08\/2022-ford-f-series-super-duty-pickup-revealed\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:11;\">F-Series Super Duty<\/a>, including the <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/ford\/f_250\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:12;\">F-250<\/a>, <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/ford\/f_350\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:13;\">F-350<\/a>, F-450 and F-550. This recall encompasses 391,836 vehicles in total.<\/p>\n<p>A software error in the trailer brake program could result in the trailer brake controller not properly applying the trailer brakes \u201cwhen <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2020\/06\/17\/how-to-tow\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:14;\">towing<\/a> a trailer equipped with an electric or electric-over-hydraulic brake.\u201d As one might expect, Ford says this could result in longer stopping distances than you\u2019d otherwise expect, increasing the risk of a crash.<\/p>\n<p>To fix the issue, you\u2019ll need to bring your vehicle into the <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/car-dealers\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:15;\">dealership<\/a> where Ford will flash new software to the truck.
