More recent examples of interesting <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/category\/automotive-history\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:1;\">automotive history<\/a> are hard to find in such yards, however, just because newer vehicles are still worth fixing up when something expensive breaks; this is why I remain unable to find a discarded <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/suzuki\/equator\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:2;\">Suzuki Equator<\/a>. Because <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/buy\/2010-Honda-Accord+Crosstour\/review\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:3;\">the Honda Accord Crosstour was such a puzzling car\/truck\/wagon\/whatever<\/a>, I&#8217;ve done my best to find a junkified one that wasn&#8217;t crashed beyond recognition, and I succeeded a few months back in a self-service yard in California&#8217;s Central Valley.<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"grp-full lazy\" alt=\"\" data-original=\"https:\/\/o.aolcdn.com\/images\/dims3\/GLOB\/legacy_thumbnail\/800x450\/format\/jpg\/quality\/85\/https:\/\/s.aolcdn.com\/os\/ab\/_cms\/2022\/03\/31122419\/15-2010-Honda-Accord-Crosstour-Junkyard-Photo-by-Murilee-Martin.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>It got crashed hard and then the entire front third got ripped apart for easier powertrain removal by junkyard shoppers, but after passing on a half-dozen junkyard <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/honda\/crosstour\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:4;\">Crosstours<\/a> that had been wrapped around freeway abutments at high speed and\/or burned I knew this was about the most intact specimen I&#8217;d be finding for a few years. Sure, the Crosstour was weird-looking and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2015\/04\/08\/honda-crosstour-discontinued\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:5;\">sold poorly<\/a>, but it&#8217;s\u00a0<em>still<\/em> a <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/honda\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:6;\">Honda<\/a> and thus retains substantial retail value. In <a href=\"https:\/\/www.murileemartin.com\/Junkyard\/JunkyardGallery-Honda.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:7;\">my junkyard-crawling experience<\/a>, <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/auto-repair\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:8;\">repairable<\/a> Hondas (and <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/acura\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:9;\">Acuras<\/a>) generally don&#8217;t show up at your local <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ewepullet.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:10;\">Ewe Pullet<\/a> until at least age 20.<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"grp-full lazy\" alt=\"\" data-original=\"https:\/\/o.aolcdn.com\/images\/dims3\/GLOB\/legacy_thumbnail\/800x450\/format\/jpg\/quality\/85\/https:\/\/s.aolcdn.com\/os\/ab\/_cms\/2022\/03\/31122409\/04-2010-Honda-Accord-Crosstour-Junkyard-Photo-by-Murilee-Martin.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The idea behind the <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/honda\/accord+crosstour\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:11;\">Accord Crosstour<\/a> seemed to be that it would be something like the hot-selling <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/subaru\/outback\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:12;\">Subaru Outback<\/a> (which began life as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetruthaboutcars.com\/2021\/08\/junkyard-find-1999-subaru-legacy-outback-wagon\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:13;\">a trim level of the Legacy wagon<\/a> and then got more SUV-ish as the years went by), though Honda suits claimed it was supposed to compete with the (Camry-based) <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/toyota\/venza\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:14;\">Toyota Venza<\/a> and (Maxima-based) <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/nissan\/murano\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:15;\">Nissan Murano<\/a>. In any case, Honda ditched the &#8220;<a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/honda\/accord\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:16;\">Accord<\/a>&#8221; part of its name after 2011, no doubt in an attempt to make it seem more truck-ish.<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"grp-full lazy\" alt=\"\" data-original=\"https:\/\/o.aolcdn.com\/images\/dims3\/GLOB\/legacy_thumbnail\/800x450\/format\/jpg\/quality\/85\/https:\/\/s.aolcdn.com\/os\/ab\/_cms\/2022\/03\/31122411\/06-2010-Honda-Accord-Crosstour-Junkyard-Photo-by-Murilee-Martin.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The Crosstour was screwed together very well, drove nicely, and did a good job hauling mammals and cargo, but car shoppers thought it looked funny and didn&#8217;t project the image they wanted. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2015\/04\/08\/honda-crosstour-discontinued\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:17;\">After 2015, the Crosstour was gone<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"grp-full lazy\" alt=\"\" data-original=\"https:\/\/o.aolcdn.com\/images\/dims3\/GLOB\/legacy_thumbnail\/800x450\/format\/jpg\/quality\/85\/https:\/\/s.aolcdn.com\/os\/ab\/_cms\/2022\/03\/31122421\/19-2010-Honda-Accord-Crosstour-Junkyard-Photo-by-Murilee-Martin.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>This one is the entry-level front-wheel-drive EX version, which listed at $29,670 (about $38,850 in 2022 dollars).
