That does not include <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/category\/elon-musk\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"8\" data-params=\"%7B%22section_route%22%3A%22news%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%22elon-musk%22%7D\">Elon Musk<\/a> purchasing a 9.2% stake in Twitter. Is that considered an impulse buy? Tesla\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2022\/04\/02\/tesla-tsla-q1-2022-vehicle-production-and-delivery-numbers.html\" rel=\"\">Q1 numbers<\/a> are out: Tesla delivered 310,048 EVs in the first quarter of 2022 and produced 305,407 electric vehicles. This time last year, Tesla delivered 184,800 electric vehicles and produced 180,338 EVs. <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/tesla\/model-3\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"1\" data-params=\"%7B%22make_alias%22%3A%22tesla%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%22model-3%22%7D\">Model 3<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/tesla\/model-y\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"1\" data-params=\"%7B%22make_alias%22%3A%22tesla%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%22model-y%22%7D\">Model Y<\/a> cars compromised around 95% of the deliveries.<\/p>\n<p>On the charging side, <a href=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/2022\/04\/01\/tesla-opens-longest-supercharger-station-world\/\" rel=\"\">Tesla<\/a> has opened the longest Supercharging network in the world. Located in France, the location offers 28 stalls and is open to both Tesla and other EV owners.<\/p>\n<p>In other <a href=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/2022\/04\/05\/tesla-testing-lucid-air-range-test-track\/\" rel=\"\">Tesla <\/a>news, the car company has been testing the <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/lucid\/air\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"1\" data-params=\"%7B%22make_alias%22%3A%22lucid%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%22air%22%7D\">Lucid Air<\/a> at its Fremont Factory on its test track. Last month, BYD sold 53,664 pure EVs and 50,674 plug-in hybrid vehicles. <a href=\"https:\/\/cnevpost.com\/2022\/04\/02\/byd-beats-panasonic-to-third-place-in-global-ev-battery-market\/\" rel=\"\">BYD<\/a> also beat Panasonic to rank in third place with an 11.9% market share in the global EV battery market for Q1 of 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Panasonic took home fourth in the global EV battery market with a 10.8% market share. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.in\/business\/news\/panasonic-joins-the-electric-vehicle-market-plans-to-invest-4-9-billion-in-ev-batteries-and-supply-chain-software\/articleshow\/90635375.cms\" rel=\"\">Panasonic<\/a> wants more growth and plans to invest $4.9 billion in EV batteries, cyber physical systems, and supply chain software from 2023 to 2025.\u00a0<\/p>\n<section contenteditable=\"false\" draggable=\"true\" data-widget=\"video\" data-url-params=\"\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"sizer\" draggable=\"false\" src=\"data:image\/png;base64,iVBORw0KGgoAAAANSUhEUgAAABAAAAAJCAYAAAA7KqwyAAAAGXRFWHRTb2Z0d2FyZQBBZG9iZSBJbWFnZVJlYWR5ccllPAAAABpJREFUeNpi\/P\/\/PwMlgImBQjBqwLAwACDAAOVfAw9\/ZDvcAAAAAElFTkSuQmCC\" alt=\"\"\/> <\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"YouTube video player\" width=\"1182\" height=\"665\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/0w-_GBAiajE\" data-src-param=\"\">[embedded content]<\/iframe><\/p>\n<\/section>\n<h3>Hertz So Good<\/h3>\n<p>Last October, <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/543058\/tesla-100000-hertz-rental-fleet\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"0\" data-params=\"%7B%22article_edition_id%22%3A%22543058%22%2C%22section%22%3A%221%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%22tesla-100000-hertz-rental-fleet%22%7D\">Hertz ordered 100,000 Teslas for its rental fleet<\/a>. You have probably seen their tv commercials with Tom Brady. My brother would say he is the second-best QB of all time, right behind Dan Marino. Let me know how you feel about that in the comments.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to Tesla, Hertz has announced its decision to purchase <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2022\/04\/04\/tech\/polestar-hertz-purchase\/index.html\" rel=\"\">65,000 EVs<\/a> from <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/polestar\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"2\" data-params=\"%7B%22alias%22%3A%22polestar%22%7D\">Polestar<\/a> over the next 5 years. Hertz plans to offer the Polestar 2 to renters in Europe this spring, and in North America and Australia by late 2022. The greatest thing about this?
