Now that the Hurricane inline-six is official, the writing on the wall for the demise of the Hellcat and <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/chrysler\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:3;\">Chrysler&#8217;s<\/a> family of Hemi V8s has dripped down the walls and is pooling on the floors. Stellantis refuses to confess to the performance <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/hybrid\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:6;\">hybrid<\/a> game plan for the Hurricane I6, but such engines are coming. This quote from <em>MA<\/em> is the best we can do to close the case without a body, unless Jeep plans to follow <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/tag\/amg\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:7;\">AMG<\/a> into four-cylinder screamers: &#8220;Morrison told <em>Motor Authority<\/em> there will be performance variants of the WL generation <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/jeep\/grand+cherokee\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:8;\">Grand Cherokee<\/a>, but they won&#8217;t be powered by V-8s.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Morrison also (mostly) kiboshed the chance of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2021\/06\/23\/jeep-gladiator-392-news\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:9;\">Jeep Gladiator enjoying a V8<\/a> or the some of the factory-fit off-road upgrades bestowed on the <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/jeep\/wrangler\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:10;\">Wrangler<\/a>. The Gladiators fractional sales compared to the Wrangler can&#8217;t justify the development spend. Those who <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2020\/06\/17\/how-to-tow\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:11;\">tow<\/a> won&#8217;t be sacrificed by the removal of two cylinders and the move to electrification, either.
