When BrightDrop\u2019s Zevo 600 production begins in the fourth-quarter of 2022, CAMI will become Canada\u2019s first full-scale EV plant. BrightDrop\u2019s Zevo 400, a smaller version\u00a0of the electric van, will also be built at CAMI beginning in 2023.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCAMI Assembly is playing a key role in GM\u2019s vision for a zero emissions future,\u201d said Marissa West, president and managing director of GM Canada. \u201cWe plan to retool our Ingersoll plant in record time to support the start of BrightDrop EV production in Canada before year end.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>By September, the team will have prepped the building and installed the new BrightDrop production equipment. CAMI expects to begin returning\u00a0employees in October for training on the new line. The first BrightDrop Zevo 600 is planned to roll off the line at CAMI in\u00a0before the end of the year.<\/p>\n<p>BrightDrop currently has more than 25,000 production reservations for its electric delivery vans to serve the growing market for electric delivery solutions, from some of the world\u2019s largest companies.
