{"id":21408,"date":"2022-05-04T09:03:53","date_gmt":"2022-05-04T13:03:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/autosector.com\/?p=21408"},"modified":"2022-05-04T09:03:53","modified_gmt":"2022-05-04T13:03:53","slug":"tobias-moers-amadeo-felisa-aston-martin-ceo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/autosector.com\/?p=21408","title":{"rendered":"Amadeo Felisa replaces Tobias Moers as Aston Martin CEO"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/aston+martin\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:0;\">Aston Martin<\/a> Lagonda on Wednesday named former <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/ferrari\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:1;\">Ferrari<\/a> boss Amedeo Felisa as its new chief executive officer as the British luxury carmaker works on emulating the Italian carmaker&#8217;s success and electrifying its brand.<\/p>\n<p>Felisa will take over with immediate effect from Tobias Moers, who joined the company in 2020 from shareholder Mercedes-Benz&#8217;s high-performance <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/tag\/amg\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:2;\">AMG<\/a> brand and served as CEO and chief technical officer.<\/p>\n<p>Felisa currently serves on Aston Martin&#8217;s board and led Ferrari between 2008 and 2016 when it was still part of the <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/fiat\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:3;\">Fiat<\/a> group.<\/p>\n<p>Most recently, Felisa served as a special adviser to Silk-FAW, a joint venture between U.S.-based automotive engineering and design firm Silk EV and Chinese automaker FAW.<\/p>\n<p>Billionaire Lawrence Stroll drove to the rescue of <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/tag\/james+bond\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:4;\">James Bond&#8217;s<\/a> car brand of choice less than two years ago while it struggled after a disastrous IPO.<\/p>\n<p>Stroll has overseen a manufacturing makeover at Aston Martin to lift margins and help it become more like rival Ferrari with more customized car orders.<\/p>\n<p>Now the carmaker&#8217;s largest shareholder and executive chairman, Stroll told Reuters that Moers had stabilized the company when it &#8220;needed immediate manufacturing, operation attention&#8221; but now Aston Martin needed a CEO to &#8220;focus on the bigger picture&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Nobody knows how to make ultra-luxury performance cars better than Amedeo,&#8221; Stroll said. &#8220;He saw the movie, he wrote the script.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Aston Martin plans to launch its first fully-electric car in 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Aston also named former Ferrari and <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/bmw\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:5;\">BMW<\/a> executive Roberto Fedeli as its chief technical officer.<\/p>\n<p>The latest appointments come just months after the company&#8217;s former chief financial office also left Aston Martin.<\/p>\n<p>Jefferies analyst Philippe Houchois wrote in a client note that Aston Martin&#8217;s new CFO and the appointment of Felisa &#8220;will hopefully help stabilize management across the company&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday, Aston Martin reported a wider pretax loss of 111.6 million pounds ($139.15 million) for the first quarter, compared with a loss of 42.2 million pounds a year earlier, which was largely in line with expectations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Related video:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><style><![CDATA[.embed-container { position: relative; padding-bottom: 56.25%; height: 0; overflow: hidden; max-width: 100%; } .embed-container iframe, .embed-container object, .embed-container embed { position: absolute; top: 0; left: 0; width: 100%; height: 100%; }]]><\/style>\n<\/p>\n<div class=\"embed-container\">\n <lite-youtube videoid=\"BYKkFrdozE8\" style=\"background-image: url('');\"\/>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Aston Martin Lagonda on Wednesday named former Ferrari boss Amedeo Felisa as its new chief executive officer as the British luxury carmaker works on emulating the Italian carmaker&#8217;s success and electrifying its brand.
