{"id":22230,"date":"2022-05-14T12:04:02","date_gmt":"2022-05-14T16:04:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/autosector.com\/?p=22230"},"modified":"2022-05-14T12:04:02","modified_gmt":"2022-05-14T16:04:02","slug":"need-for-speed-new-studio-gaming-roundup","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/autosector.com\/?p=22230","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Need For Speed&#8217; developer Criterion has absorbed a Codemasters studio | Gaming Roundup"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This week in racing game news:<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The next &#8220;Need For Speed&#8221; is being developed by a super-team<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ign.com\/articles\/need-for-speed-developer-criterion-absorbs-codemasters-studio\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:0;\">It was reported this week<\/a> that Criterion, the developer best-known in the racing game world for making the &#8220;Need For Speed&#8221; and &#8220;Burnout&#8221; games, has absorbed Codemasters Cheshire, and they&#8217;re working together on the next &#8220;Need For Speed.&#8221; You may recognize Codemasters as the team that makes &#8220;Dirt,&#8221; &#8220;<a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/tag\/f1\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:1;\">F1<\/a>,&#8221; &#8220;Grid&#8221; and &#8220;Onrush.&#8221; Apparently, the teams have been working together on the upcoming &#8220;NFS&#8221; for months, but they&#8217;ve recently made the partnership more official by consolidating both studios under the Criterion banner. What this will mean for the next &#8220;Need For Speed&#8221; is anyone&#8217;s guess, but it&#8217;s great to see this amount of talent from multiple successful studios working together to create the next installment of this beloved series.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">&#8220;The Crew 2&#8221; has launched Season 5 Episode 2: American Legends<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>&#8220;The Crew 2&#8221; is still dropping new content like it&#8217;s going out of style, and most recently the game has released its American Legends content.
