In Federal Highway Administration guidance, it lays out some minimums: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greencarreports.com\/news\/1136134_federal-ev-charging-network-150-kw-connectors-every-50-miles\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">four 150-kw DC fast-charging connectors per station, every 50 miles<\/a>\u2014and with some requirements for accessibility and charging.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong><strong\/><\/strong>What had been a federal probe of Tesla vehicles over their Autopilot features\u2019 propensity to lead to collisions with emergency responders\u2019 vehicles was this week elevated to an Engineering Analysis. Affecting <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greencarreports.com\/news\/1136132_tesla-autopilot-a-step-closer-to-safety-recall-with-escalation-of-federal-probe\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">830,000 Tesla vehicles from the 2014-2022 model years<\/a>, it\u2019s now one step short of a safety recall that might demand some sort of over-the-air fix.\u00a0<\/p>\n<div class=\"image_wrapper\"><img decoding=\"async\" name=\"tccimg_100844024_m\" title=\"2023 Polestar 3\" src=\"data:image\/png;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAD\/ACwAAAAAAQABAAACADs=\" alt=\"2023 Polestar 3\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" data-width=\"1024\" data-height=\"576\" data-url=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/lrg\/polestar_100844024_l.jpg\" data-src-h=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/hug\/polestar_100844024_h.jpg\" data-src=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/lrg\/polestar_100844024_l.jpg\" data-src-l=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/lrg\/polestar_100844024_l.jpg\" data-src-m=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/med\/polestar_100844024_m.jpg\" data-src-s=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/sml\/polestar_100844024_s.jpg\" class=\"lazy\"\/><\/p>\n<p>2023 Polestar 3<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Polestar previewed its upcoming <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greencarreports.com\/news\/1136094_polestar-3-electric-suv-first-photos-american-made\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">electric performance SUV, the Polestar 3<\/a>, with an unobscured first photo this week\u2014plus a confirmation that it\u2019s due for a full reveal in October and a production start in early 2023. Expect it to rival the Tesla Model X Plaid, BMW iX M60, and Audi E-Tron S.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong><strong\/><\/strong>The production version of the Lightyear One solar car was revealed, with specs that deliver on many of the technology targets announced earlier on. Owners of the Lightyear 0 making a 22-mile daily commute <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greencarreports.com\/news\/1136135_lightyear-0-solar-car-revealed-no-need-to-charge-for-months\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">might not need to charge for months<\/a>, the company suggests. With a new interior <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greencarreports.com\/news\/1136115_fisker-pear-urban-ev-solar-roof-range-310-miles-houdini-trunk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sketch of the upcoming $29,900 Fisker Pear EV<\/a>, the electric automaker showed how it plans to make the most out of interior space and outward visibility, in a compact vehicle that could return up to 310 miles of range. And the first photos that Cadillac provided of its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greencarreports.com\/news\/1136122_cadillac-celestiq-electric-flagship-show-car-photos\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">upcoming flagship electric car, the Celestiq<\/a>, were just up-close. And yet one of them was enough to assure us that in its upcoming show car form this model hasn\u2019t become another rugged crossover.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong><strong\/><\/strong>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greencarreports.com\/news\/1136092_high-mpg-hyundai-ioniq-plug-in-and-hybrid-versions-are-going-away-as-ioniq-goes-all-ev\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hyundai Ioniq hybrid and plug-in hybrid<\/a>\u2014once challengers to the Toyota Prius and Prius Prime\u2014will soon be discontinued, the international automaker confirmed Monday. The prolonged drought in California <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greencarreports.com\/news\/1136027_report-california-drought-will-increase-co2-cost-of-the-electricity-evs-plug-into\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">will increase the carbon cost of the electricity that EVs plug into<\/a> this year; while about 15% of the state\u2019s electricity comes from hydropower in a normal year, it shrinks to 8% in a drought year. But on a national level, with price hikes for coal and natural gas, the grid will lean toward renewable sources, the EIA anticipated\u2014meaning it and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greencarreports.com\/news\/1136105_high-cost-coal-natural-gas-evs-us-grid-cleaner-this-summer\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the EVs it charges may get cleaner this summer<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong><strong\/><\/strong>Sales of Volvo\u2019s electrified vehicles have been surging.
