That is so profound. It is an honest day\u2019s work that you can feel in your heart. Whatever else is going on in this messed-up world, know that at least what you are doing is pure goodness and that I have infinitely more respect and admiration for you than the richest person on Wall St.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The next email was more familiar. Musk often sends emails to rally the troops at the end of quarters to push for deliveries and this is one of those emails.<\/p>\n<p>The CEO wrote it was a \u201cvery tough quarter\u201d and employees need to \u201crally hard to recover\u201d:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\" readability=\"8\">\n<p>\u201cThis has been a very tough quarter, primarily due to supply chain and production challenges in China, so we need to rally hard to recover!\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Earlier this week, Electrek reported that Musk <a href=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/2022\/06\/08\/elon-musk-warns-tesla-workers-nutty-end-of-quarter-delivery-wave\/\">warned Tesla workers of a \u2018nutty\u2019 end-of-quarter delivery wave<\/a> for the same reason.<\/p>\n<p>By \u201csupply chain and production challenges in China\u201d, Musk is referring to <a href=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/2022\/05\/23\/tesla-ramping-up-to-new-records-gigafactory-shanghai\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Gigafactory Shanghai being closed for weeks earlier in the quarter<\/a>, along with several suppliers, due to the restrictions to control COVID cases in Shanghai.<\/p>\n<p>The CEO said that production is now \u201creturning to full strength\u201d in Shanghai.<\/p>\n<p>Interestingly, Musk also gave some insight into the production status at other Tesla factories.<\/p>\n<p>He wrote about Fremont:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\" readability=\"7\">\n<p>\u201cI\u2019d like to congratulate the Fremont team for achieving a new all-time record production day last week,\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>We reported this week that <a href=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/2022\/06\/11\/tesla-produces-more-cars-fremont-factory-than-gm-toyota\/\">Tesla now produces more cars at Fremont factory than when it was operated by GM and Toyota<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The CEO also announced that Gigafactory Berlin achieved the production of \u201calmost\u201d 1,000 Model Y vehicles in a week for the first time last week.<\/p>\n<p>Tesla originally aimed for Gigafactory Berlin to achieve a production of 1,000 vehicles per week in April, but we reported that <a href=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/2022\/04\/18\/tesla-giga-berlin-producing-350-model-y-per-weekramp-up-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the factory was nowhere near that at the time<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Musk also said that \u201cAustin is spooling up\u201d \u2013 referring to Gigafactory Texas.<\/p>\n<p>He didn\u2019t disclose the production rate at the factory, but he said during a company-wide meeting earlier this week that Gigafactory Texas was still limited due to 4680 cell and structural battery pack production.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s the email in full:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\" readability=\"13\">\n<p>Production and Delivery<\/p>\n<p>This has been a very tough quarter, primarily due to supply chain and production challenges in China, so we need to rally hard to recover! <\/p>\n<p>I\u2019d like to congratulate the Fremont team for achieving a new all-time record production day last week and Berlin for making almost 1000 cars last week! This is great stuff. <\/p>\n<p>Shanghai is returning to full strength and Austin is spooling up.
