{"id":24670,"date":"2022-06-15T10:53:44","date_gmt":"2022-06-15T14:53:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/autosector.com\/?p=24670"},"modified":"2022-06-15T10:53:44","modified_gmt":"2022-06-15T14:53:44","slug":"tesla-autopilot-tops-list-most-crashes-on-driver-assist-features-nhtsa-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/autosector.com\/?p=24670","title":{"rendered":"Tesla Autopilot tops the list of most crashes on driver-assist features in new NHTSA report"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tesla has topped the list of most crashes on advanced driver-assist (ADAS) features \u2013 Autopilot in Tesla\u2019s case \u2013 in NHTSA\u2019s first report on \u201cSafety Performance of Advanced Vehicle Technologies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Steven Cliff, NHTSA\u2019s Administrator, commented on the report:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\" readability=\"12\">\n<p>The data released today are part of our commitment to transparency, accountability and public safety. New vehicle technologies have the potential to help prevent crashes, reduce crash severity and save lives, and the Department is interested in fostering technologies that are proven to do so; collecting this data is an important step in that effort. As we gather more data, NHTSA will be able to better identify any emerging risks or trends and learn more about how these technologies are performing in the real world.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The report is broken down into two sections: one for the SAE Level 2 advanced driver assistance systems and one for SAE Levels 3-5 automated driving systems.
