Now there are but a few with more on the way &#8212; some we know about and other still to be revealed. There are also certainly some <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/car-finder\/truck\/fuel_economy-electric\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:0;\">electric trucks<\/a> currently planned that sadly won\u2019t see the light of day. Here are the EV pickups we\u2019ve officially been told to expect, along with some <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/category\/rumormill\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:1;\">rumored<\/a> products. For good measure, we\u2019ve included those few success stories that have already begun making their way into customers\u2019 garages, as well as those that have been abandoned by their makers.<\/p>\n<h2>Here&#8217;s what&#8217;s coming\u00a0<\/h2>\n<p>Some of the major automakers, which have already proven they can build and sell cars, have announced that they\u2019ve got <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/car-finder\/truck\/fuel_economy-electric\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:2;\">electric pickup trucks<\/a> coming, whether sooner or later. Here are a few that seem like sure things.<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"grp-full lazy\" alt=\"\" data-original=\"https:\/\/o.aolcdn.com\/images\/dims3\/GLOB\/legacy_thumbnail\/1600x900\/format\/jpg\/quality\/85\/https:\/\/s.aolcdn.com\/os\/ab\/_cms\/2022\/06\/14133427\/2024-Chevy-Silverado-EV.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<h3>Chevy Silverado EV<\/h3>\n<p><a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/chevrolet\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:3;\">Chevy<\/a> has already shown us the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2022\/01\/05\/2024-chevy-silverado-ev-reveal-ces-midgate-avalanche\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:4;\">2024 Silverado EV<\/a>, which is a departure from the design of the internal-combustion Silverado, harkening back to the look of the <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/chevrolet\/avalanche\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:5;\">Chevy Avalanche<\/a>. From the get-go, it will offer up to 664 horsepower and 780 pound-feet of torque, as well as an estimated 400 miles of range. Chevy has also already <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2022\/01\/05\/chevy-silverado-ev-trail-boss-teaser\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:6;\">teased a Trail Boss version<\/a> of the Silverado EV. The company also said <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2022\/01\/08\/silverado-ev-first-edition-soldout\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:7;\">the First Edition sold out<\/a> in just 12 minutes, without saying how many it offered up for pre-sale.<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"grp-full lazy\" alt=\"\" data-original=\"https:\/\/o.aolcdn.com\/images\/dims3\/GLOB\/legacy_thumbnail\/1600x900\/format\/jpg\/quality\/85\/https:\/\/s.aolcdn.com\/os\/ab\/_cms\/2021\/12\/15124801\/GMC-Electric-Sierra-Denali.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<h3>GMC Sierra EV<\/h3>\n<p><a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/gmc\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:8;\">GMC<\/a> hasn\u2019t fully revealed its electric Sierra version of the Silverado EV, but this more mainstream follow-up to the behemoth <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/hummer\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:9;\">Hummer<\/a> EV should see the light of day later this year. It did <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2021\/12\/15\/gmc-sierra-electric-pickup-previewed\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:10;\">show us a teaser<\/a>, however, that gave us a good look at the truck&#8217;s front end.<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"grp-full lazy\" alt=\"\" data-original=\"https:\/\/o.aolcdn.com\/images\/dims3\/GLOB\/legacy_thumbnail\/1600x900\/format\/jpg\/quality\/85\/https:\/\/s.aolcdn.com\/os\/ab\/_cms\/2022\/04\/18203454\/2024_ram_1500_electric_pickup_teaser.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<h3>Ram 1500 BEV<\/h3>\n<p>Ram is well on its way to showing us its first all-electric pickup. It has been holding <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2022\/02\/08\/ram-revolution-electric-1500-pickup\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:11;\">public meetings<\/a> in order to help develop the design and features that customers say they want. Being somewhat of a latecomer \u2014 the <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/ford\/f_150+lightning\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:12;\">Ford F-150 Lightning<\/a> and GMC Hummer EV have already launched \u2014 the pressure is on Ram to deliver, and it is promising big things. &#8220;We will push past our competitors in terms of those important metrics like <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2020\/06\/17\/how-to-tow\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:13;\">towing<\/a> and hauling and, in the future, charge time, range and things of this nature,&#8221; brand CEO Mike Koval told <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.autonews.com\/new-york-auto-show\/ram-plans-unveil-electric-1500-concept-year\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:14;\">Automotive News<\/a><\/em>. We can expect Ram to show a version of the <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/ram\/1500\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:15;\">1500<\/a> BEV <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2022\/04\/19\/ram-1500-bev-concept-coming-this-year\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:16;\">this year<\/a>, with production beginning in 2024.<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"grp-full lazy\" alt=\"Toyota Pickup EV\" data-original=\"https:\/\/o.aolcdn.com\/images\/dims3\/GLOB\/legacy_thumbnail\/1600x900\/format\/jpg\/quality\/85\/https:\/\/s.aolcdn.com\/os\/ab\/_cms\/2021\/12\/14050048\/20211214_BEV_22.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<h3>Toyota Pickup EV<\/h3>\n<p>Late last year, <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/toyota\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:17;\">Toyota<\/a> showed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2021\/12\/14\/toyota-ev-bz-lineup-concept-preview-tacoma-sports-car\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:18;\">a number of electric vehicles<\/a> it\u2019s planning for its future portfolio. One of these was the plainly named Toyota Pickup EV, which borrows <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/toyota\/tundra\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:19;\">Tundra<\/a> styling in what appears to be a Tacoma-sized package. We don\u2019t have a specific date for its launch, but we know Toyota is planning to launch 30 electric models between now and 2030.<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"grp-full lazy\" alt=\"\" data-original=\"https:\/\/o.aolcdn.com\/images\/dims3\/GLOB\/legacy_thumbnail\/1600x900\/format\/jpg\/quality\/85\/https:\/\/s.aolcdn.com\/os\/ab\/_cms\/2022\/06\/14152049\/Rouge-Electric-Vehicle-Center_03_-Jacqueline-Lanz1.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<h3>Another Ford electric pickup<\/h3>\n<p>At <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2022\/04\/26\/2022-ford-f150-lightning-launch\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:20;\">the launch of the F-150 Lightning<\/a>, <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/ford\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:21;\">Ford<\/a> CEO Jim Farley <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2022\/04\/26\/ford-second-electric-pickup-teased\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:22;\">said<\/a>, \u201cWe\u2019re already pushing dirt down in Blue Oval City for another electric pickup truck that\u2019s different than this one.\u201d He provided no other details about that pickup, but it sounds like basically a done deal. Whether it\u2019s an electric version of one of its other pickup nameplates \u2014 <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/ford\/ranger\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:23;\">Ranger<\/a> and <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/ford\/maverick\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:24;\">Maverick<\/a> \u2014 or something entirely different, the performance of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2022\/05\/11\/2022-ford-lightning-review\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:25;\">F-150 Lightning<\/a> and <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/ford\/mustang+mach_e\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:26;\">Mustang Mach-E<\/a> have us thinking Ford has another smashing success in store for us.<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"grp-full lazy\" alt=\"\" data-original=\"https:\/\/o.aolcdn.com\/images\/dims3\/GLOB\/legacy_thumbnail\/1600x900\/format\/jpg\/quality\/85\/https:\/\/s.aolcdn.com\/os\/ab\/_cms\/2022\/05\/30194917\/vw-scout-ev1.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<h3>Volkswagen Scout<\/h3>\n<p>In May of 2022, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2022\/05\/11\/vw-scout-electric-truck\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:27;\">VW announced<\/a> it would sell an electric pickup (and an SUV) under <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2022\/05\/13\/vw-scout-ev-international-harvester-history\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:28;\">the Scout brand<\/a>. \u201cThe first prototypes are to be unveiled next year, and production is scheduled to start in 2026,\u201d <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/volkswagen\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:29;\">VW<\/a> said in a statement. This <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2022\/05\/31\/volkswagen-dealers-blindsided-and-worried-by-scout-announcement\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:30;\">came as a surprise<\/a> to Volkswagen dealers.<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"grp-full lazy\" alt=\"\" data-original=\"https:\/\/o.aolcdn.com\/images\/dims3\/GLOB\/legacy_thumbnail\/1600x900\/format\/jpg\/quality\/85\/https:\/\/s.aolcdn.com\/os\/ab\/_cms\/2022\/01\/14084425\/tesla-cybertruck-petersen-012.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<h3>Tesla Cybertruck<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2019\/11\/21\/tesla-pickup-truck-reveal\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:31;\">Tesla revealed its wild Cybertruck<\/a> back in 2019. It has been delayed, but as of this writing, <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/tag\/elon+musk\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:32;\">Elon Musk<\/a>\u2019s most recent promise has the Cybertruck <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2022\/04\/07\/tesla-austin-cyber-rodeo-recap\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:33;\">reaching production in 2023<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Lesser known, lesser certainty<\/h2>\n<p>Before the legacy automakers started announcing their plans for electric trucks, a number of startups raced to get their ideas in front of consumers. Here are a few that we know of, but we wouldn\u2019t bet any money that these will all see the light of day.<\/p>\n<h3>\u00a0<\/h3>\n<p><img class=\"grp-full lazy\" alt=\"\" data-original=\"https:\/\/o.aolcdn.com\/images\/dims3\/GLOB\/legacy_thumbnail\/1600x900\/format\/jpg\/quality\/85\/https:\/\/s.aolcdn.com\/os\/ab\/_cms\/2022\/03\/02094812\/lordstown-endurance-beta-21.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<h3>Lordstown Endurance<\/h3>\n<p>Lordstown Motors has seen its share of troubles and uncertainties, but its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2020\/06\/25\/lordstown-endurance-electric-pickup-truck-reveal-livestream\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:34;\">Endurance pickup<\/a>, last we heard, is supposed to go into production in 2022. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2022\/03\/02\/gm-sells-lordstown-motors-stake\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:35;\">GM recently sold its stake<\/a> in the startup, but Lordstown maintained then that it would build 500 trucks this year and 2,500 in 2023, but that it was also looking to raise about $250 million to execute its plan.<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"grp-full lazy\" alt=\"\" data-original=\"https:\/\/o.aolcdn.com\/images\/dims3\/GLOB\/legacy_thumbnail\/1600x900\/format\/jpg\/quality\/85\/https:\/\/s.aolcdn.com\/os\/ab\/_cms\/2021\/03\/11090738\/Canoo_PickupTruck_ExteriorStudio_7.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<h3>Canoo Pickup Truck<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2021\/03\/11\/canoo-electric-pickup-truck-reveal\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:36;\">Canoo previewed its electric pickup<\/a> back in 2021. It\u2019s currently available for preorder on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canoo.com\/pickup\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:37;\">Canoo\u2019s website<\/a>, with the official launch \u201cas early as 2023.\u201d Canoo says it will have \u201c200+\u201d miles of range, single- and dual-motor variants, and up to 600 horsepower and 550 pound-feet of torque.<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"grp-full lazy\" alt=\"\" data-original=\"https:\/\/o.aolcdn.com\/images\/dims3\/GLOB\/legacy_thumbnail\/1600x900\/format\/jpg\/quality\/85\/https:\/\/s.aolcdn.com\/os\/ab\/_cms\/2022\/06\/14141832\/hercules-alpha.jpeg\"\/><\/p>\n<h3>Hercules Alpha<\/h3>\n<p>Hercules Electric Vehicles plans to build the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/herculesev.com\/hercules-alpha-concept\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:38;\">Alpha electric pickup<\/a>. Claims are lofty: 1,000 horsepower, 300 miles of range, 12,000 pounds of towing and a 0-60 time of 4 seconds. It will also use a\u00a0solar tonneau cover. As of July 2021, Hercules was planning to launch the Alpha &#8220;in late 2022,&#8221; and had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businesswire.com\/news\/home\/20210706005700\/en\/Hercules-Electric-Vehicles-and-Pininfarina-SpA-Sign-Long-Term-Agreement-for-Automotive-Design\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:39;\">announced<\/a> a partnership with Pininfarina to design EVs.<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"grp-full lazy\" alt=\"\" data-original=\"https:\/\/o.aolcdn.com\/images\/dims3\/GLOB\/legacy_thumbnail\/1600x900\/format\/jpg\/quality\/85\/https:\/\/s.aolcdn.com\/os\/ab\/_cms\/2021\/11\/23085041\/edisonfuture_ef1_t_0011.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<h3>EdisonFuture EF1-T<\/h3>\n<p>This startup first showed its conceptual EF1-T electric pickup and EF1-V van in 2021, and has said <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2021\/11\/27\/edisonfuture-2025-release\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:40;\">it hopes to begin selling vehicles in 2025<\/a>. It plans three trims, with the top version using a 180-kilowatt-hour battery, three electric motors for 816 total horsepower, with 450 miles of range, 11,000 pounds of towing capacity and a 0-60 time of 3.9 seconds.<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"grp-full lazy\" alt=\"Alpha Wolf\" data-original=\"https:\/\/o.aolcdn.com\/images\/dims3\/GLOB\/legacy_thumbnail\/1600x900\/format\/jpg\/quality\/85\/https:\/\/s.aolcdn.com\/os\/ab\/_cms\/2021\/08\/24143833\/AMC-WOLF-40.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<h3>Alpha Wolf<\/h3>\n<p>Startup EV-maker Alpha has been dropping <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2020\/12\/22\/alpha-motor-corporation-ace-electric-coupe\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:41;\">interesting<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2021\/02\/12\/alpha-motor-corporation-ace-jax-off-road-performance-electric-coupe\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:42;\">concepts<\/a> over the past couple years. One of those is the compact <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2021\/03\/12\/alpha-wolf-ev-pickup\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:43;\">Alpha Wolf<\/a>, which looks cool \u2014 if it ever sees the light of day. It comes in single-motor (FWD) and dual-motor configurations (RWD) with up to 275 miles of range and 3,000 pounds of towing. Alpha has also shown off the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2021\/04\/15\/alpha-motor-corportation-wolf-plus-extended-cab-ev-truck\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:44;\">Wolf+<\/a> with an extended cab, as well as a crew cab <a href=\"https:\/\/www.alphamotorinc.com\/superwolf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:45;\">SuperWolf<\/a>. The company has said that it plans on delivering vehicles no sooner than 2023.<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"grp-full lazy\" alt=\"\" data-original=\"https:\/\/o.aolcdn.com\/images\/dims3\/GLOB\/legacy_thumbnail\/1600x900\/format\/jpg\/quality\/85\/https:\/\/s.aolcdn.com\/os\/ab\/_cms\/2022\/06\/14142539\/atlis-xt.jpeg\"\/><\/p>\n<h3>Atlis XT<\/h3>\n<p>EV startup Atlis is planning <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2021\/09\/29\/atlis-xt-electric-work-truck-prototype\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:46;\">its XT electric pickup<\/a>, with 6.5- and 8-foot beds, up to 20,000 pounds of towing (or 35,000 with a fifth-wheel setup), up to 500 miles of range and a 0-60 time of 5 seconds. The design of the truck has changed since <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2019\/01\/07\/atlis-xt-pickup\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:47;\">earlier iterations<\/a>, and now the company plans to offer the XT as an all-inclusive subscription service.<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"grp-full lazy\" alt=\"\" data-original=\"https:\/\/o.aolcdn.com\/images\/dims3\/GLOB\/legacy_thumbnail\/1600x900\/format\/jpg\/quality\/85\/https:\/\/s.aolcdn.com\/os\/ab\/_cms\/2022\/06\/14143021\/neuron-ev-t-one.jpeg\"\/><\/p>\n<h3>Neuron EV T.One<\/h3>\n<p>Revealed late last year at the\u00a0China\u00a0International Import Expo, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2019\/11\/26\/neuron-ev-electric-pickup-semi\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:48;\">Neuron EV T.One<\/a>\u00a0will ride on a skateboard chassis. There might be a fuel-cell powertrain in the works, too. Like the previous two on our list, we\u2019re not really holding our breath for this one.<\/p>\n<h2>Rumors<\/h2>\n<p>There are a few other electric trucks that may or may not be in the works, but have at least been talked about.<\/p>\n<h3>\u00a0<\/h3>\n<p><img class=\"grp-full lazy\" alt=\"\" data-original=\"https:\/\/o.aolcdn.com\/images\/dims3\/GLOB\/legacy_thumbnail\/1600x900\/format\/jpg\/quality\/85\/https:\/\/s.aolcdn.com\/os\/ab\/_cms\/2021\/01\/04124900\/Fisker-pickup-truck.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<h3>Fisker electric pickup<\/h3>\n<p>Back in February of 2020, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2020\/02\/16\/fisker-alaska-electric-pickup-truck-teased\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:49;\">Henrik Fisker tweeted a picture<\/a> of an electric pickup with the word \u201cAlaska\u201d across the bed. Then he deleted the tweet. Later, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2021\/01\/04\/fisker-electric-pickup-truck-rendering-preview\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:50;\">Fisker posted renderings<\/a> of a much different looking electric truck. The company has suggested multiple times it could build a pickup, saying it would have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2020\/07\/30\/fisker-four-electric-cars-by-2025\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:51;\">four models by 2025<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"grp-full lazy\" alt=\"\" data-original=\"https:\/\/o.aolcdn.com\/images\/dims3\/GLOB\/legacy_thumbnail\/1600x900\/format\/jpg\/quality\/85\/https:\/\/s.aolcdn.com\/os\/ab\/_cms\/2022\/06\/14143606\/Lucid-HQ-2.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<h3>Lucid electric pickup<\/h3>\n<p>This one\u2019s not set in stone, but\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/lucid\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:52;\">Lucid<\/a>\u00a0Motors is\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2020\/08\/14\/lucid-air-other-models-suv-pickup-truck\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:53;\">planning a full range of EVs<\/a>, including, possibly, a pickup truck. &#8220;If we want to make a longer vehicle, like a pickup or something like that \u2014 which we may want to make in the future \u2014 the paint shop is future-proofed for pickups,&#8221; said Lucid CEO Peter Rawlinson back in August.<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"grp-full lazy\" alt=\"2018 Volkswagen Amarok\" data-original=\"https:\/\/o.aolcdn.com\/images\/dims3\/GLOB\/legacy_thumbnail\/1600x900\/format\/jpg\/quality\/85\/https:\/\/s.blogcdn.com\/slideshows\/images\/slides\/747\/935\/4\/S7479354\/slug\/l\/2018-volkswagen-amarok-1.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<h3>VW Amarok EV<\/h3>\n<p>Another vague potential plan in the works,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/volkswagen\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:54;\">Volkswagen<\/a>\u00a0board member for electric mobility, Thomas Ulbrich, told\u00a0<em>Autoblog<\/em>\u00a0back in 2020 that the Amarok (the only body-on-frame pickup in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/volkswagen\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:55;\">VW&#8217;s<\/a>\u00a0portfolio) could hypothetically be offered as an EV. \u201cWe are looking at what Rivian is doing, because normally it is difficult to believe that a car like the Amarok, for example, could be electrified,\u201d he said. \u201cBut, nevertheless, step by step our investigation and research makes us think it becomes more possible. By making this technology more and more robust, an Amarok-type of car would be BEV.&#8221; As recently as April 2022, VW Commercial Vehicles&#8217; board member for marketing, Lars Krause, has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2022\/04\/26\/electric-vw-amarok-rumor\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:56;\">suggested<\/a> the Amarok could get an electric variant.<\/p>\n<h2>Technically On Sale<\/h2>\n<p>After years of EVs gaining ground, the market until very recently lacked actual substance in the pickup segment. How rapidly things change. Here are the few electric trucks that have finally made their way to production, though they have been dogged by slow roll-outs and limited supply.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"grp-full lazy\" alt=\"\" data-original=\"https:\/\/o.aolcdn.com\/images\/dims3\/GLOB\/legacy_thumbnail\/1600x900\/format\/jpg\/quality\/85\/https:\/\/s.aolcdn.com\/os\/ab\/_cms\/2022\/04\/05160625\/2022-GMC-HUMMER-EV-316.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<h3>GMC Hummer EV<\/h3>\n<p>GMC came out swinging with its first electric pickup. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2022\/04\/07\/gmc-hummer-ev-edition-1-first-drive-review\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:57;\">2022 Hummer EV<\/a> is an exercise in superlatives, and it delivers on its capabilities. It\u2019s such a special (and expensive, and heavy, and fast) vehicle that its flaws are easy to overlook.<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"grp-full lazy\" alt=\"\" data-original=\"https:\/\/o.aolcdn.com\/images\/dims3\/GLOB\/legacy_thumbnail\/1600x900\/format\/jpg\/quality\/85\/https:\/\/s.aolcdn.com\/os\/ab\/_cms\/2021\/09\/27142315\/2022-Rivian-R1T-orange-off-road-wheel-up.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<h3>Rivian R1T<\/h3>\n<p>This startup, as startups do, had trouble getting its first vehicle off the production line. But <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2022\/01\/11\/rivian-deliveries-2021\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:58;\">it eventually did<\/a>, and you can now spot the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2021\/09\/28\/2022-rivian-r1t-first-drive\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:59;\">Rivian R1T<\/a> out in the wild. Customers can enjoy smart design, capable on- and off-road performance, and clever packaging. Now if it can just <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2022\/06\/13\/rivian-r1s-delay-electric-suv\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:60;\">get the R1S SUV off the ground<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"grp-full lazy\" alt=\"\" data-original=\"https:\/\/o.aolcdn.com\/images\/dims3\/GLOB\/legacy_thumbnail\/1600x900\/format\/jpg\/quality\/85\/https:\/\/s.aolcdn.com\/os\/ab\/_cms\/2022\/05\/10171701\/IMG_73363.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<h3>Ford F-150 Lightning<\/h3>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2022\/04\/26\/2022-ford-f150-lightning-launch\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:61;\">electric F-150<\/a> was a recipe for success. Take America\u2019s best-selling nameplate and give it a super potent electric powertrain without changing much else? \u201cSign me up,\u201d said thousands of consumers. The order books for the 2022 Lightning were <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2022\/04\/25\/2022-ford-f150-lightning-order-books-close\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:62;\">already closed<\/a> by the time we even had the chance to drive it. After <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2022\/05\/11\/2022-ford-lightning-review\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:63;\">spending time behind the wheel<\/a>, we understand why.<\/p>\n<h2>RIP<\/h2>\n<p>Of course, some of the products envisioned by the startups above could be vaporware.
