{"id":25082,"date":"2022-06-21T09:52:12","date_gmt":"2022-06-21T13:52:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/autosector.com\/?p=25082"},"modified":"2022-06-21T09:52:12","modified_gmt":"2022-06-21T13:52:12","slug":"tesla-tracking-working-prototype-humanoid-robot-end-september","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/autosector.com\/?p=25082","title":{"rendered":"Tesla is tracking to have a working prototype humanoid robot by the end of September"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Elon Musk says that Tesla is tracking to have a working prototype humanoid robot, Tesla Optimus, by the end of September.<\/p>\n<p>Last month, Musk announced\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/2022\/05\/17\/tesla-ai-day-2-elon-musk-robot\/\">\u201cTesla AI Day #2\u201d with \u201cmany cool updates<\/a>\u201d on August 19.<\/p>\n<p>The original \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/2021\/08\/19\/watch-tesla-ai-day-livestream-important-news\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Tesla AI Day<\/a>\u201d held last year was an event focused on the company\u2019s self-driving program. The automaker also unveiled its\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/2021\/08\/20\/tesla-dojo-supercomputer-worlds-new-most-powerful-ai-training-machine\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Dojo supercomputer<\/a>\u00a0and announced plans for the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/2021\/08\/19\/tesla-bot-humanoid-robot\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Tesla Bot<\/a>\u201d humanoid robot \u2013 now known as Tesla Optimus.<\/p>\n<p>The AI Day #2 was supposed to be held a year to the day after the first one, but Musk took to Twitter earlier this month to delay the event to September 30. As for the reason for the delay, the CEO said that <a href=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/2022\/06\/02\/tesla-bot-have-humanoid-robot-prototype-elon-musk-sept-30\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Tesla may have a working prototype of Optimus by then<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Today, during an interview at the Qatar Economic Forum, Musk said that Tesla is \u201ctracking\u201d toward having a working prototype of its humanoid robot:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\" readability=\"8\">\n<p>Well, I hope that we will have an interesting prototype to show people. We have a very talented team at Tesla that I\u2019m working with closely to have a prototype humanoid robot ready by the end of September. And I think we are tracking to that point.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The CEO also teased other things to be unveiled during the event that will position Tesla as more than an automaker and more like a \u201creal-world AI company\u201d:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\" readability=\"9\">\n<p>And there\u2019ll be a few other exciting things that we talk about at the Tesla AI Day.
