It seems like there&#8217;s something notable introduced each week, while one of our editors is inevitably plugging one into their homes at night.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This week we got extensive time in three EVs, and reviewed two cars that can be electrified (the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/article\/2023-subaru-crosstrek-review\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:1;\">Subaru Crosstrek<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2022\/07\/29\/2022-range-rover-first-drive-review\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:2;\">Range Rover<\/a>). Here&#8217;s a brief taste of what we found.<\/p>\n<p\/><\/div>\n<div class=\"post-body\">\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2022\/07\/25\/mercedes-benz-eqb-review-electric-car-ev\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:3;\">Mercedes-Benz EQB First Drive Review: Next electric Benz is a little different<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>&#8220;<a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/mercedes_benz\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:4;\">Mercedes-Benz<\/a> is taking two starkly different approaches to electrifying its lineup. Some of its EQ-branded\u00a0electric cars\u00a0are standalone models without a gasoline-burning counterpart, like\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2022\/04\/25\/mercedes-benz-eqs-580-review\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:5;\" data-rapid_p=\"13\" data-v9y=\"1\">the EQS<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2022\/04\/12\/2023-mercedes-benz-eqe-350-first-drive\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:6;\" data-rapid_p=\"14\" data-v9y=\"1\">the EQE<\/a>. They\u2019re positioned as electric alternatives to the\u00a0<a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/mercedes_benz\/s_class\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:7;\">S-Class<\/a>\u00a0and the\u00a0<a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/mercedes_benz\/e_class\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:8;\">E-Class<\/a>, respectively, and they look nothing like their gasoline-powered alter-egos. Others are electric variants of the gas-powered cars themselves;\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2021\/04\/19\/mercedes-benz-eqb-electric-car-glb-shanghai\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:9;\" data-rapid_p=\"17\" data-v9y=\"1\">the new GLB-based Mercedes-Benz EQB<\/a> falls into this category, with the EQC sold in some global markets being another. Only a handful of styling cues inside and out, and of course the powertrain, differentiate these EVs from their gasoline-burning counterparts.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"grp-full lazy\" alt=\"\" data-original=\"https:\/\/o.aolcdn.com\/images\/dims3\/GLOB\/legacy_thumbnail\/800x450\/format\/jpg\/quality\/85\/https:\/\/s.aolcdn.com\/os\/ab\/_cms\/2022\/07\/25171134\/2022-Chevy-Bolt-EV-at-Museum-of-Flight.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2022\/07\/26\/2022-chevy-bolt-ev-road-test\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:10;\">2022 Chevy Bolt EV Road Test Review: Time to play EV, gas or airplane<\/a><\/h3>\n<p>&#8220;Although massively updated for \u201922 with surprisingly cool styling (versus embarrassingly dorky), a more conventional and sufficiently nice interior (versus one that looked constructed of surplus hot tub plastic, shown above right), and a <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblotg.com\/tag\/battery\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:11;\" rel=\"noopener\">battery<\/a> that will no longer burn down your garage, the Bolt continues to boast an above-average amount of all-electric range at 258 EPA-estimated miles. As the math implies, that should be more than enough to travel 178 miles up Interstate 5 from Portland to Seattle, but charging would be necessary at least once along the way.
