{"id":29544,"date":"2022-08-18T10:34:07","date_gmt":"2022-08-18T14:34:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/autosector.com\/?p=29544"},"modified":"2022-08-18T10:34:07","modified_gmt":"2022-08-18T14:34:07","slug":"tesla-cut-delivery-times-china-upgrading-gigafactory-shanghai","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/autosector.com\/?p=29544","title":{"rendered":"Tesla manages to cut delivery times in China after upgrading Gigafactory Shanghai"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tesla has managed to cut Model 3 and Model Y delivery times in China, an important market for the automaker, after upgrading Gigafactory Shanghai to add more production capacity.<\/p>\n<p>Demand has rarely been a problem for Tesla and over the last few years, it has resulted in long delivery times for many variants of most models.<\/p>\n<p>The automaker has been increasing production capacity to catch up to demand, but the latter has still been outpacing the former, leading to <a href=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/2022\/08\/12\/tesla-stops-model-3-long-range-orders\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Tesla stopping new orders of some models<\/a> in order to reduce the backlog.<\/p>\n<p>In China, Tesla has also been experiencing strong demand, but production has also been ramping up rapidly. On the other hand, Tesla naysayers believe that demand has fallen, resulting in this shorter delivery time.<\/p>\n<p>We should know in a few weeks when China releases its vehicle registration data for August, though September numbers should be more telling.<\/p>\n<p>That said, Tesla\u2019s issues in China are not over as a drought has been putting a lot of pressure on the grid, and Tesla has been asking the government to help maintain power at Gigafactory Shanghai.<\/p>\n<p>China is the largest market for electric vehicles and therefore is Tesla\u2019s most important market.
