Acura pointed to the design future of its brand as it shifts to EVs, with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greencarreports.com\/news\/1136866_acura-precision-ev-concept-future-electric-vehicles\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Precision EV Concept<\/a>. And then it confirmed the name of the production electric SUV that follows it: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greencarreports.com\/news\/1136873_acura-zdx-first-electric-vehicle-type-s-performance\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Acura ZDX<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong><strong\/><\/strong>Lincoln also showed how it\u2019s thinking far into the future with its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greencarreports.com\/news\/1136874_futuristic-lincoln-model-l100-concept-ev-autonomous-driving\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Model L100 Concept EV<\/a>. Set to slay the Tesla Model S Plaid, challenge the upcoming Dodge EV muscle car on the dragstrip, and perhaps even counter supercars from Rimac, the tri-motor Air Sapphire will be the most powerful sedan in the world, according to Lucid. Just set aside about a quarter million for it, OK?<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong><strong\/><\/strong>That Dodge made its debut this week, too\u2014back in Michigan, and in concept form. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greencarreports.com\/news\/1136862_dodge-daytona-srt-electric-muscle-car-concept-no-tesla-plaid\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dodge Charger Daytona SRT electric muscle-car concept<\/a> is loud and proud, with a multi-speed transmission, a retro look, and an \u201cexhaust\u201d that emits screaming loud noises to those outside. The five-seat SUV will be built in the U.S. and is a counterpart to the Model S\u2013sized EQE sedan, as well as a smaller alternative to the EQS SUV due later this year.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong><strong\/><\/strong>Pricing was released for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greencarreports.com\/news\/1136855_2023-kia-sportage-plug-in-hybrid-price-range\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2023 Kia Sportage Plug-In Hybrid<\/a> midweek, just missing out on the EV tax credit for which it had previously qualified. It says the timing is unrelated to the EV tax credit push. The EV maker is giving reservation holders until September 1 to opt for the more expensive Adventure version or get a refund.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong><strong\/><\/strong>The longtime iPhone maker Foxconn will be making a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greencarreports.com\/news\/1136831_foxconn-self-driving-electric-tractor-ohio-factory-lordstown-fisker\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">self-driving electric tractor for California\u2019s Monarch<\/a> at the same former GM plant where it\u2019s due to make the Lordstown Endurance and Fisker Pear.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong><strong\/><\/strong>Chine\u2019s Xpeng claimed that its upcoming G9 flagship electric SUV will be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greencarreports.com\/news\/1136813_xpeng-g9-suv-fastest-charging-mass-produced-ev\">the world\u2019s fastest-charging mass-produced EV<\/a>. And then on the unofficial-news side, a new deal between BMW and China\u2019s EVE Energy might confirm<a href=\"https:\/\/www.greencarreports.com\/news\/1136860_eve-energy-bmw-deal-confirms-cylindrical-batteries-tesla-4680\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> BMW\u2019s broad shift toward cylindrical cells<\/a> in upcoming mass-market EVs due in 2025, according to a report\u2014and larger-format cells like Tesla\u2019s 4680 might be part of it.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">An updated analysis from the Union of Concerned Scientists finds that an electric truck <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greencarreports.com\/news\/1136814_electric-pickups-less-co2-than-average-gasoline-truck\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cuts lifetime carbon emissions by 57% versus gasoline<\/a>.
