The company essentially uses portable hardware to help fill gaps in infrastructure or help EV owners with unforeseen charging needs.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Through its Currently app, SparkCharge has been allowing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greencarreports.com\/news\/1132469_chargeup-mobile-app-brings-fast-charging-to-you-for-25-a-month\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">EV drivers to order extra energy to be delivered<\/a> while they\u2019re parked\u2014in Dallas, San Francisco, LA, or San Jose.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Now it\u2019s expanding its \u201ccharging as a service\u201d model to more surrounding communities: Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, Irvine, Anaheim, Santa Ana, Oakland, Fremont, Berkeley, Union City, Albany, Orange, and Hayward.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">With the additional $7 million announced Monday from venture fund Cleveland Avenue, SparkCharge takes its total Series A funding with a diverse group of investors to $30 million, which should allow the company to keep scaling up.<\/p>\n<div class=\"image_wrapper first_wrapper\" readability=\"7\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" name=\"tccimg_100794184_m\" title=\"SparkCharge mobile-charging service\" src=\"data:image\/png;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAD\/ACwAAAAAAQABAAACADs=\" alt=\"SparkCharge mobile-charging service\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" class=\"first_image lazy\" data-width=\"1024\" data-height=\"576\" data-url=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/lrg\/sparkcharge-mobile-charging-service_100794184_l.jpg\" data-src-h=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/hug\/sparkcharge-mobile-charging-service_100794184_h.jpg\" data-src=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/lrg\/sparkcharge-mobile-charging-service_100794184_l.jpg\" data-src-l=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/lrg\/sparkcharge-mobile-charging-service_100794184_l.jpg\" data-src-m=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/med\/sparkcharge-mobile-charging-service_100794184_m.jpg\" data-src-s=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/sml\/sparkcharge-mobile-charging-service_100794184_s.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>SparkCharge mobile-charging service<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Currently now offers three service tiers, ranging from a base fee of $4.99 per month and $0.69\/kwh up to $29.99 a month and $0.51\/kwh. Each level includes unlimited deliveries up to 100 miles.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">In 2019, the early-stage startup demonstrated that the idea of ordering a pizza crossed with the ubiquity of a \u201cjerry can\u201d of fuel might be the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greencarreports.com\/news\/1123928_with-portable-ev-fast-chargers-startup-aims-to-be-as-easy-as-pizza-delivery\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">technology that helps to bridge EV enthusiasm<\/a>, given\u00a0a charging infrastructure that isn\u2019t yet fully baked.
