Now President Biden, Vice President Harris, and their administration have gone over the plans and approved the first 35.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Just yesterday, the Biden-Harris Administration made it official that over two-thirds of the\u00a0Electric Vehicle (EV) Infrastructure Deployment Plans have been approved ahead of schedule, and they&#8217;re already funded. Each of the 35 states can begin to put over $900 million in\u00a0NEVI formula funding into place to begin building out a <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/category\/charging\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"8\" data-params=\"%7B%22section_route%22%3A%22news%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%22charging%22%7D\">charging network<\/a> that will collectively cover some 53,000 miles of highway. US<span>\u00a0Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg shared:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"12\">\n<p><em>\u201cToday, with funding in President Biden\u2019s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, we are taking an important step to build a nationwide electric vehicle charging network where finding a charge is as easy as locating a gas station. With the first set of approvals we are announcing today, 35 states across the country \u2013 with Democratic and Republican governors \u2013 will be moving forward to use these funds to install EV chargers at regular, reliable intervals along their highways.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>US Secretary of Energy Jennifer M. Granholm added that the first group of States, including the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico, now has an official green light to begin the process of rolling out much-needed charging infrastructure across the country.<\/p>\n<p>The administration worked as quickly as possible through the lengthy and painstaking approval process. Now, it&#8217;s already in the process of reviewing the remaining plans, which have all been submitted. The goal is to finish by September 30, 2022, if not sooner. The first 35 approved plans are as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Arizona<\/li>\n<li>Maine<\/li>\n<li>Ohio<\/li>\n<li>Arkansas<\/li>\n<li>Maryland<\/li>\n<li>Oklahoma<\/li>\n<li>California<\/li>\n<li>Massachusetts<\/li>\n<li>Oregon<\/li>\n<li>Colorado<\/li>\n<li>Michigan<\/li>\n<li>Pennsylvania<\/li>\n<li>Connecticut<\/li>\n<li>Minnesota<\/li>\n<li>Puerto Rico<\/li>\n<li>Delaware<\/li>\n<li>Mississippi<\/li>\n<li>Rhode Island<\/li>\n<li>District of Columbia<\/li>\n<li>Montana<\/li>\n<li>South Dakota<\/li>\n<li>Florida<\/li>\n<li>Nebraska<\/li>\n<li>Tennessee<\/li>\n<li>Georgia<\/li>\n<li>Nevada<\/li>\n<li>Utah<\/li>\n<li>Kansas<\/li>\n<li>New Hampshire<\/li>\n<li>Washington<\/li>\n<li>Kentucky<\/li>\n<li>New Mexico<\/li>\n<li>Wisconsin<\/li>\n<li>Louisiana<\/li>\n<li>North Dakota<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Further down the road, another $3 billion will become available to help provide EV charging access to\u00a0<span>economically disadvantaged communities. Thus far, there has been no official word about the brand, type, or speed of the various States&#8217; upcoming charging infrastructure.
