However, it&#8217;s exceedingly clear that the lady in the photo is sitting in a Model 3, rather than a Lexus product.<\/p>\n<p>When we first heard about this, we thought perhaps <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/lexus\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"2\" data-params=\"%7B%22alias%22%3A%22lexus%22%7D\">Lexus<\/a> was using a <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/tesla\/model-3\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"1\" data-params=\"%7B%22make_alias%22%3A%22tesla%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%22model-3%22%7D\">Model 3<\/a> in some sort of safety testing capacity. We immediately imagined someone from the dealership driving the <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/tesla\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"2\" data-params=\"%7B%22alias%22%3A%22tesla%22%7D\">Tesla<\/a> or at least talking about it, with specific references to its safety features.<\/p>\n<p>Instead, it was simply an image of a woman sitting in a Model 3, though there&#8217;s no actual reference to the Tesla. At this point, people are speculating that it was likely a mistake by the social media team at the dealer, since it was removed and replaced with a different image.<\/p>\n<p>The dealer is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/LexusofTauranga\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lexus of Tauranga<\/a> in New Zealand, and the Tesla photo was captured by <em>Gavin Showbridge (@KiwiEV)<\/em> and shared on Twitter. As you can see, there&#8217;s really no question it&#8217;s the inside of a Model 3. If you visit the dealership&#8217;s Facebook page now, you may see a post at the top of the page from September 8, 2022. It shows a child and addresses proper seatbelt positioning. Similarly, the previous image of the Model 3 was related to steering wheel positioning.<\/p>\n<section class=\"trinity-skip-it\" contenteditable=\"false\" draggable=\"true\" data-widget=\"special_image\" data-align=\"center\">\n<div class=\"spi_wrapper\"><a class=\"lightzoom\" href=\"https:\/\/cdn.motor1.com\/images\/custom\/lexus-of-tauranga-seat-belt-positioning.JPG\"> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"custom-image\" draggable=\"false\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.motor1.com\/images\/custom\/thumbnail\/lexus-of-tauranga-seat-belt-positioning.JPG\" alt=\"external_image\" width=\"703\" height=\"816\" loading=\"lazy\"\/> <\/a><\/div>\n<\/section>\n<p>These are zoomed-in photos that are specific to some feature. It&#8217;s actually a really good image that anyone could use as a stock image to illustrate the concept. If you&#8217;re not really familiar with Tesla and\/or have never been inside the Model 3, you may not even question the photo. That said, if you look closely, it becomes abundantly clear quite quickly.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Another user was able to grab a shot of the ad before the dealership took it down. <em>Evers (@cosmopassenger)<\/em> posted a zoomed-out version as a reply, just to make things more clear.
