One of the <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/hybrid\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:2;\">hybrid<\/a> models in the pipeline is a <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/category\/supercars\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:3;\">supercar<\/a> that will replace <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2022\/04\/22\/lamborghini-builds-20000th-huracan-looks-back-on-eight-years-of-production\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:4;\">the popular Hurac\u00e1n<\/a>. Its name hasn&#8217;t been revealed yet, but an unverified report allegedly outlines what it will be powered by.<\/p>\n<p>Without citing sources, <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.motortrend.com\/news\/lamborghini-huracan-replacement-what-we-know\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:5;\">Motor Trend<\/a><\/em> wrote that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2021\/06\/21\/2021-lamborghini-huracan-review\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:6;\">the Hurac\u00e1n<\/a>&#8216;s successor will downsize from a naturally-aspirated V10 to a twin-turbocharged V8. If true, that&#8217;s a big deal: Lamborghini has proudly eschewed forced induction for its line of supercars, and the only turbocharged member of its lineup is the <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/lamborghini\/urus\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:7;\">Urus<\/a> SUV. The eight-cylinder will reportedly be related to the unit that powers the Urus, but the two engines won&#8217;t be identical. <em>Motor Trend<\/em> learned that the turbos will be programmed to spool up between 7,000 and 10,000 rpm, which is high in the rev range.<\/p>\n<p>An electric motor installed between the V8 and the transmission will add a hybrid component to the drivetrain, though figures such as horsepower and torque haven&#8217;t been published. An earlier report <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2022\/07\/18\/lamborghini-huracan-850-horsepower-phev\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:8;\">pegs<\/a> the total output at 850 horsepower, but it&#8217;s not official. We also don&#8217;t know if the car will be a standard hybrid or if it will get a plug-in system, and whether it will use mechanical or through-the-road all-wheel-drive. <em>Motor Trend<\/em> believes that the model will be longer than the Hurac\u00e1n to accommodate the electrified parts of the powertrain, however, and we&#8217;re curious to find out how Lamborghini will offset the hybrid system&#8217;s mass. The <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblotg.com\/tag\/battery\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:9;\" rel=\"noopener\">battery<\/a> pack and the motor will inevitably add weight.<\/p>\n<p>Lamborghini hasn&#8217;t commented on the <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/category\/rumormill\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:10;\">rumor<\/a>, and it hasn&#8217;t revealed what will power the Hurac\u00e1n&#8217;s successor.
