It was on its way from California to a presentation to customers in New York&#8217;s swanky Hamptons, making a quick stop at Kosilla&#8217;s shop to freshen up.<\/p>\n<div class=\"image_wrapper first_wrapper\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" name=\"tccimg_100852259_m\" title=\"Koenigsegg CC850\" src=\"data:image\/png;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAD\/ACwAAAAAAQABAAACADs=\" alt=\"Koenigsegg CC850\" width=\"640\" height=\"408\" class=\"first_image lazy\" data-width=\"1024\" data-height=\"653\" data-url=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/lrg\/koenigsegg-cc850_100852259_l.jpg\" data-src-h=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/hug\/koenigsegg-cc850_100852259_h.jpg\" data-src=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/lrg\/koenigsegg-cc850_100852259_l.jpg\" data-src-l=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/lrg\/koenigsegg-cc850_100852259_l.jpg\" data-src-m=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/med\/koenigsegg-cc850_100852259_m.jpg\" data-src-s=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/sml\/koenigsegg-cc850_100852259_s.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Koenigsegg CC850<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The CC850 wasn&#8217;t in need of as much attention as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorauthority.com\/news\/1113132_watch-how-the-professionals-strip-paint-from-a-car\">some of the other cars<\/a> that have passed through the shop, but Kosilla gave it a thorough wash and Reflex Pro enamel coating, which should make it harder for dirt to stick to the paint.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking of paint, the CC850&#8217;s 25-stage paint maxed out Kosilla&#8217;s paint depth gauge. Areas with thinner paint need to be treated more delicately, but that&#8217;s not a problem here. Koenigsegg is no stranger to elaborate paint jobs; the Jesko show car displayed at the 2019 Geneva auto show <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorauthority.com\/news\/1126168_the-koenigsegg-jesko-show-car-has-34-layers-to-its-paint\">had 34 layers to its paint<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/BgiFvy8sfmk\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\">[embedded content]<\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The CC850 is a re-imagination of Koenigsegg&#8217;s first production car\u2014the CC8S. The styling borrowed heavily from that hypercar, but the CC850 is powered by Koenigsegg&#8217;s current twin-turbo 5.0-liter V-8 tuned to deliver 1,169 hp with regular pump gas or 1,366 hp with E85 fuel. The V-8 is coupled to a new version of Koenigsegg&#8217;s Light Speed Transmission that can switch between a 9-speed automatic mode and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorauthority.com\/news\/1137063_deep-dive-how-koenigsegg-reinvented-the-manual-transmission-for-the-cc850\">6-speed manual mode<\/a>\u2014complete with clutch pedal.<\/p>\n<p>Koenigsegg originally planned 50 build slots but they sold out in record time after the CC850&#8217;s Monterey debut, which meant some of the company&#8217;s loyal customers missed out. The automaker quickly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorauthority.com\/news\/1136943_koenigsegg-ups-cc850-production-to-meet-strong-demand\">upped production<\/a>, adding 20 build slots.
