As in all parts of riding, Trek continues to push the limits of design and technology in the rapidly expanding market for electric mountain bikes. It recently unveiled the newest model in its line of eMTBs, and it undoubtedly offers a lot.<\/p>\n<p>The new <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/612066\/trek-allant-8s-electric-commuter-bike-2023\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"0\" data-params=\"%7B%22article_edition_id%22%3A%22612066%22%2C%22section%22%3A%221%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%22trek-allant-8s-electric-commuter-bike-2023%22%7D\">Trek<\/a> Fuel EXe 9.5, the series&#8217; entry-level model, serves as the foundation for the remainder of the portfolio. Trek has partnered with an interesting German electric motor producer for its new EXe line of products. TQ, or Technologie in Qualit\u00e4t, has been in the powertrain business for many years with a variety of products including those for e-mobility, agriculture, and aircraft. TQ claims that their Harmonic Pin Ring drive <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/category\/technology\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\">technology<\/a>, which they developed using the expertise they&#8217;ve accumulated over the years, functions similarly to a rotary motor.<\/p>\n<section class=\"trinity-skip-it\" contenteditable=\"false\" draggable=\"true\" data-widget=\"video\" data-url-params=\"\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"sizer\" draggable=\"false\" src=\"data:image\/png;base64,iVBORw0KGgoAAAANSUhEUgAAABAAAAAJCAYAAAA7KqwyAAAAGXRFWHRTb2Z0d2FyZQBBZG9iZSBJbWFnZVJlYWR5ccllPAAAABpJREFUeNpi\/P\/\/PwMlgImBQjBqwLAwACDAAOVfAw9\/ZDvcAAAAAElFTkSuQmCC\" alt=\"\"\/> <\/p>\n<p><iframe allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" frameborder=\"0\" height=\"315\" title=\"YouTube video player\" width=\"560\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/m9kSHmK4z-w\" data-src-param=\"\">[embedded content]<\/iframe><\/p>\n<\/section>\n<p>TQ asserts that the electric motor produces an adequate quantity of power while being more efficient than a typical brushless motor. Even while its power output is slightly lower than that of its mainstream competitors, it is much lighter\u2014weighing just 1.8 kilograms\u2014allowing manufacturers to use a smaller battery. While the company does not provide particular range information, it does state that the battery can power you for two to five hours. Additionally, a range extender is available, extending riding time by an additional 44 percent. When the battery is empty, charging it to full capacity doesn&#8217;t take more than two hours. You can also alter the BB placement here using Trek&#8217;s exclusive adjustable Mino Link, depending on your preferences. Last but not least, all of the drivetrain parts for the Fuel EXe 9.5 are supplied by Shimano.
