Below it sits the far more attainable Lyriq (which starts at $62,990), but it won\u2019t be the smallest EV to wear a Cadillac badge and a recent teaser from General Motors gave us a glimpse of what a sub-Lyriq electric crossover might look like.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/615454\/does-this-gm-sketch-show-cadillac-future-electric-compact-suv\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"0\" data-params=\"%7B%22article_edition_id%22%3A%22615454%22%2C%22section%22%3A%221%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%22does-this-gm-sketch-show-cadillac-future-electric-compact-suv%22%7D\">GM Design shared the design sketch on Instagram<\/a> without directly saying what it represented. They don\u2019t even say it\u2019s a <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/cadillac\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\">Cadillac<\/a>, although this is plainly obvious if you compare the sketch to the <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/cadillac\/lyriq\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\">Lyriq<\/a> that it appears hewn from the same block, with the same family look and overall shape.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/600965\/gm-believes-it-will-be-substantial-player-europe-ev-market\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"0\" data-params=\"%7B%22article_edition_id%22%3A%22600965%22%2C%22section%22%3A%221%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%22gm-believes-it-will-be-substantial-player-europe-ev-market%22%7D\">The still unnamed smaller Cadillac crossover<\/a> will be roughly the same size as the Chevrolet Equinox EV, and it will be built on a version of the same platform, although it may have more performance and different specs, so the two won\u2019t be technically identical. Frankly, it just looks like a smaller Lyriq, and Cadillac will not go down that path, as the aforementioned design sketch seems to suggest, even if said sketch doesn\u2019t actually preview the production model.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>If, however, Cadillac does choose to just shrink the Lyriq and give it minor detail changes to create the smaller model, well, this rendering is spot on.
