And in 2016, a group of white-hat hackers from China did just that, uncovering a flaw that Tesla duly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greencarreports.com\/news\/1106225_tesla-software-update-fixes-flaw-found-by-chinese-white-hat-hackers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">fixed with a software update<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p data-pm-slice=\"1 1 []\">A growing group of EVs has the capability for over-the-air (OTA) software updates\u2014or even to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greencarreports.com\/news\/1135951_ford-recalls-mustang-mach-e-ev-software-ota-remedy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">remedy issues<\/a> that have software roots\u2014that Tesla pioneered.
