Photo:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=lB7e_ZMVsNg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow sponsored\" aria-label=\"Zoom (Opens PDF)\">Zoom<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Zoom and <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/tesla\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"2\" data-params=\"%7B%22alias%22%3A%22tesla%22%7D\">Tesla<\/a> announced a partnership earlier this month that will let you take video calls from your infotainment center, as detailed in a report from\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/jalopnik.com\/tesla-and-zoom-team-up-to-bring-work-calls-to-you-car-1849763414\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow sponsored\" aria-label=\"Jalopnik (Opens PDF)\"><em>Jalopnik<\/em><\/a>. The company announced the news at its Zoomtopia 2022 Event, also sharing a short preview of how the feature would work when in your Tesla.<\/p>\n<p>The app is set to use Tesla\u2019s built-in hardware for meetings. In a demonstration of the feature in the launch video, Zoom seemed to show that it would use the in-car camera located on the rearview mirror. Additionally, the video shows the app connecting to Tesla\u2019s onboard calendar app.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s not clear as of yet when the feature will launch, but Tesla CEO <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/category\/elon-musk\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"8\" data-params=\"%7B%22section_route%22%3A%22news%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%22elon-musk%22%7D\">Elon Musk<\/a> has been tweeting about the feature since at least 2020, calling it \u201cdefinitely a future feature\u201d in one tweet. Video: Zoom \/ YouTube<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Concerns about the app\u2019s use while driving are valid, though the companies did clarify in the recent announcement that calls will only be able to be received or sent while the vehicle is in park.<\/p>\n<p>Despite being unsafe, the practice of using Zoom while driving isn\u2019t unheard of, and the inclusion of the app in Tesla\u2019s vehicles could encourage drivers to use the in-car app for conferencing while parked \u2014 rather than using the app on a smartphone or another device while driving.
