{"id":36220,"date":"2022-11-16T12:03:56","date_gmt":"2022-11-16T17:03:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/autosector.com\/?p=36220"},"modified":"2022-11-16T12:03:56","modified_gmt":"2022-11-16T17:03:56","slug":"1137863_porsche-completes-driver-lineup-for-2023-963-lmdh-campaign","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/autosector.com\/?p=36220","title":{"rendered":"Porsche completes driver lineup for 963 LMDh campaign in 2023"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Porsche on Monday named Nick Tandy and Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Makowiecki as drivers for its 2023 Porsche 963 LMDh campaign, completing the 10-driver lineup for the automaker&#8217;s return to top-level endurance racing.<\/p>\n<p>The campaign will see Porsche enter its new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorauthority.com\/news\/1134504_watch-porsche-s-963-lmdh-racer-storm-goodwood\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">963 race car<\/a> into both the FIA World Endurance Championship and IMSA SportsCar Championship, in the premier Hypercar and GTP classes, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Tandy previously drove for Porsche in LMP1 and GT competition, and returns to the squad after a two-year break. The highlight of his career is a win in the 2015 24 Hours of Le Mans behind the wheel of Porsche&#8217;s 919 Hybrid LMP1. The cars will compete alongside similar cars built to existing LMH regulations, with Balance of Performance rules to ensure an even playing field.<\/p>\n<p>In line with LMDh regulations, the hybrid powertrain in Porsche&#8217;s 963 can generate at any time a maximum output of around 670 hp. The internal combustion component is a twin-turbo 4.6-liter V-8 related to the engine that powered the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorauthority.com\/news\/1091231_2015-porsche-918-spyder-first-drive\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">918 Spyder hypercar<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Porsche is running its LMDh campaign with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorauthority.com\/news\/1132140_porsche-and-penske-team-up-for-lmdh-campaign\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Team Penske<\/a>, under the banner Porsche Penske Motorsport.
