The latter is especially true for the Smart #3 crossover, photos of which have just leaked in China, revealing quite a big vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>At first glance, it looked like this was just a coupe-like version of <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/features\/608066\/smart-brabus-toyota-bz3-skoda\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"0\" data-params=\"%7B%22article_edition_id%22%3A%22608066%22%2C%22section%22%3A%223%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%22smart-brabus-toyota-bz3-skoda%22%7D\">the previously revealed #1<\/a> electric crossover, but comparing the two vehicles\u2019 proportions, it is pretty clear the #3 (expected to debut next year) is larger overall. This means Smart is possibly leaving room in the lineup for a model to slot between (a more upright version of the #3), or it is simply going to skip having a model called #2 (read as \u201cNumber 2\u201d) in its lineup, for obvious reasons.<\/p>\n<p>In terms of looks, the visual link between #1 and #3 is clear, as both vehicles have very similar front and rear fascia designs, but the #1 has a much more upright greenhouse that should provide ample headroom inside. They also mention two power versions: 152 horsepower and 268 horsepower, these presumably being single- and dual-motor variants; they are the same outputs that Smart announced for the #1 model, which is also getting <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/607324\/smart-number-1-brabus-revealed-china\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"0\" data-params=\"%7B%22article_edition_id%22%3A%22607324%22%2C%22section%22%3A%221%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%22smart-number-1-brabus-revealed-china%22%7D\">a hot 422 horsepower Brabus version<\/a> in China.<\/p>\n<p>Both vehicles are built on <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/459901\/geely-sea-ev-platform\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"0\" data-params=\"%7B%22article_edition_id%22%3A%22459901%22%2C%22section%22%3A%221%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%22geely-sea-ev-platform%22%7D\">the SEA platform<\/a> provided by <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/geely\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\">Geely<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/391799\/mercedes-benz-geely-jv-smart\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"0\" data-params=\"%7B%22article_edition_id%22%3A%22391799%22%2C%22section%22%3A%221%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%22mercedes-benz-geely-jv-smart%22%7D\">which owns 50 percent of Smart<\/a>, with Mercedes-Benz still owning the other half. The larger #3 is still expected to dip under the 2-ton mark, with a total weight of around 1.8 tons (3,968 pounds).
