The same has happened again with the <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/lotus\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:1;\">Lotus<\/a> codenamed Type 133. An image of the tester parked along a curb showed up <a href=\"https:\/\/weibo.com\/1663578990\/MfzhVnGgm#repost\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:2;\">on the Chinese site Weibo<\/a>, with a camouflaged Eletre in the background left and an uncamouflaged Eletre parked opposite. The Type 133 is a four-door sedan being developed as a driver&#8217;s car, benchmarked against and planning to take on the <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/porsche\/taycan\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:3;\">Porsche Taycan<\/a> as well as the <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/audi\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:4;\">Audi<\/a> E-Tron GT. Slated for a reveal next year, recent Lotus <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/tag\/trademark\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:5;\">trademark<\/a> applications for the names Envya and Etude lead watchers to believe the Type 133 will adopt one of those monikers for its debut in March, Envya getting the short odds.<\/p>\n<p>Lotus SVP of design Peter Horbury said the 133 wouldn&#8217;t be just a smaller Eletre, we&#8217;ll need to wait until the covers come off to know the truth of it. What we can tell for now is that the sedan doesn&#8217;t look far off the kind of four-door we&#8217;d have expected from Lotus if the English maker had got into family sedans before the electric age. Peeking through the window, the driver&#8217;s area gives off the same vibes as in the Eletre thanks to a squared steering wheel and minimalist instrument panel. An earlier <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/category\/spy-photos\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:6;\">spy shot<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/carnewschina.com\/2022\/11\/21\/lotus-envya-type-133-electric-sedan-spied-in-china\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:7;\">picked up by <em>Car News China<\/em><\/a> shows a rear door with pillarless window. The biggest surprise is how long it looks. Some of that length could be a trick of the angle and the camera lens; even so, this won&#8217;t be a wallflower.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"grp-full\" src=\"https:\/\/o.aolcdn.com\/images\/dims3\/GLOB\/legacy_thumbnail\/1600x900\/format\/jpg\/quality\/85\/https:\/\/s.aolcdn.com\/os\/ab\/_cms\/2022\/11\/26130315\/lotus_envya_prototype_002.jpg\" alt=\"\" loading=\"lazy\"\/><\/p>\n<p>And why should it be? Said to sit on the same Electric Premium Architecture (<a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.epa.gov\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:8;\" rel=\"noopener\">EPA<\/a>) as the Eletre \u2014 a derivative of parent company <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/tag\/geely\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:9;\">Geely&#8217;s<\/a> Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA) that supports the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2022\/06\/15\/polestar-4-crossover-fastback-previewed\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:10;\">Polestar 4<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2022\/04\/07\/smart-1-ev-crossover-reveal\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:11;\">new Smart range<\/a> \u2014 we expect overlap in powertrain possibilities. That could mean an entry-level <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblotg.com\/tag\/battery\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:12;\" rel=\"noopener\">battery<\/a> pack of 92 kilowatt-hours juicing a dual-motor drivetrain with 595 horsepower and 524 pound-feet of torque, and a 120-kWh pack powering four motors producing 893 hp and 727 lb-ft. That latter model should get the Type 133 from standstill to 62 miles per hour in under 3 seconds.<\/p>\n<p>After the sedan debuts, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/2022\/10\/11\/lotus-electric-car-suv-expansion-plans\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:13;\">the Type 134 SUV<\/a> isn&#8217;t anticipated until 2025, a challenger to the <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/porsche\/macan\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:14;\">Porsche Macan<\/a> EV.
