Please, someone mark this in my permanent file.<\/p>\n<p>A Tonka Truck\u2013like vehicle now not only exists for consumers to buy, but it\u2019s street-legal and can seemingly do almost everything for the (not so low, low) price of $69,995 including destination.<\/p>\n<p>Needing no introduction, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorauthority.com\/news\/1134837_2022-ford-bronco-raptor-test-drive-review\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2022 Ford Bronco Raptor<\/a>\u2014er, Braptor\u2014Raptorizes the Bronco with long-travel suspension, massive tires, cartoon-like design, comfortable interior, more power, and ridiculous capability. It\u2019s so absurd and hilarious looking. It\u2019s like a real-life Tonka Truck I played with in my parents\u2019 basement as a kid. The bolted-on fender flares are over the top in appearance, but they do serve to widen the stance 8.6 inches over a standard Bronco to cover the Fox long-travel remote reservoir shocks stuffed into the wells. The 37-inch BFGoodrich KO2 all-terrain tires look like pillows (there\u2019s a Planes, Trains, and Automobiles joke here). The LED daytime running lights are amber rather than white, and there are marker lights (because this thing is over 7-feet wide). The Braptor\u2019s bumper was at the height of the Civic\u2019s trunk. The Braptor must\u2019ve looked terrifying in the rearview mirror because I\u2019ve never seen a Civic change lanes so quickly in my life. The Braptor fit in my standard-size garage (built in 1997) next to my wife\u2019s 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee, but a Ford spokesperson was shocked when I told them. The Braptor\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorauthority.com\/news\/1134846_the-2022-ford-bronco-raptor-s-too-tall-for-the-assembly-line\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">too tall for the assembly line<\/a> (it barely squeaked under my garage door with little room to spare) at nearly 6.5-feet tall. It\u2019s nearly the width of an average parking spot, making pulling in and out of spots with cars on either side of the Braptor an exercise in attention to detail. It\u2019s not as cumbersome as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorauthority.com\/news\/1131105_2021-ford-f-150-raptor-price-specs-review-photos-info\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">an F-150 Raptor<\/a>, but it\u2019s a handful.<\/p>\n<div class=\"image_wrapper\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" name=\"tccimg_100867286_m\" title=\"2022 Ford Bronco Raptor\" src=\"data:image\/png;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAD\/ACwAAAAAAQABAAACADs=\" alt=\"2022 Ford Bronco Raptor\" width=\"640\" height=\"425\" data-width=\"1024\" data-height=\"680\" data-url=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/lrg\/2022-ford-bronco-raptor_100867286_l.jpg\" data-src-h=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/hug\/2022-ford-bronco-raptor_100867286_h.jpg\" data-src=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/lrg\/2022-ford-bronco-raptor_100867286_l.jpg\" data-src-l=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/lrg\/2022-ford-bronco-raptor_100867286_l.jpg\" data-src-m=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/med\/2022-ford-bronco-raptor_100867286_m.jpg\" data-src-s=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/sml\/2022-ford-bronco-raptor_100867286_s.jpg\" class=\"lazy\"\/><\/p>\n<p>2022 Ford Bronco Raptor<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>Hit: Nothing unsettles it<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Braptor is the true GOAT. This thing simply keeps its composure no matter what. Potholes? Braptor laughs at them. Speed bumps? More like a ripple in the road. Curbs? Braptors don\u2019t care about curbs. With 13.1 inches of ground clearance paired with 13.0 inches of front and 14.0 inches of rear suspension travel, the Braptor\u2019s Fox 3.1 internal byass semi-active dampers are magical. Pair all this with 37-inch rubber and it\u2019s a recipe for comfort and control. I ripped around the hills surrounding Blue Ridge, Georgia in a way no Braptor owner ever will, shocking even Senior Editor Robert Duffer. The Braptor didn\u2019t care. Not that I would ever jump a set of railroad tracks because that would be irresponsible, but if a Braptor were to attempt such a thing, it wouldn\u2019t flinch.<\/p>\n<div class=\"image_wrapper\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" name=\"tccimg_100867314_m\" title=\"2022 Ford Bronco Raptor\" src=\"data:image\/png;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAD\/ACwAAAAAAQABAAACADs=\" alt=\"2022 Ford Bronco Raptor\" width=\"640\" height=\"425\" data-width=\"1024\" data-height=\"680\" data-url=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/lrg\/2022-ford-bronco-raptor_100867314_l.jpg\" data-src-h=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/hug\/2022-ford-bronco-raptor_100867314_h.jpg\" data-src=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/lrg\/2022-ford-bronco-raptor_100867314_l.jpg\" data-src-l=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/lrg\/2022-ford-bronco-raptor_100867314_l.jpg\" data-src-m=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/med\/2022-ford-bronco-raptor_100867314_m.jpg\" data-src-s=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/sml\/2022-ford-bronco-raptor_100867314_s.jpg\" class=\"lazy\"\/><\/p>\n<p>2022 Ford Bronco Raptor<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>Miss: Doesn\u2019t rip hard enough<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Braptor\u2019s have a turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 rated at 418 hp and 440 lb-ft of torque mated to a fantastic 10-speed automatic transmission. The transmission might be the powertrain\u2019s highlight with the ability to execute incredibly quick, and perfect, shifts in Sport and Baja mode that wouldn\u2019t be out of place in a sports car. But at 5,733 lb the Braptor simply doesn\u2019t rip off the line as hard as the lighter 4,754-lb <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorauthority.com\/news\/1134027_review-update-2021-ford-bronco-wildtrak-delivers-on-ford-s-promise\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2-door Wildtrak<\/a> and its 2.7-liter turbo-6 with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorauthority.com\/news\/1132220_2021-ford-bronco-to-be-more-powerful-than-originally-stated\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">330 hp and 415 lb-ft of torque<\/a>. The power doesn\u2019t match the rest of the Braptor\u2019s over-the-topness and is outgunned by the Wrangler 392\u2019s 475-hp V-8 in both fire and fury. The bad news is a more powerful Braptor isn\u2019t in the works because the team feels the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorauthority.com\/news\/1137721_ford-bronco-raptor-s-engine-s-big-enough-already\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">engine\u2019s big enough already<\/a>. They are supportive, comfortable, and look great. Sadly, my tester didn\u2019t have the optional blue color, but that didn\u2019t distract from their comfort. They are far more comfortable than any seat found in a Wrangler, even an $83,400 V-8-powered Wrangler. The rear bench seat is basically the same as what\u2019s found in other four-door Broncos, which is to say it\u2019s fine if not a bit flat.<\/p>\n<div class=\"image_wrapper\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" name=\"tccimg_100867349_m\" title=\"2022 Ford Bronco Raptor\" src=\"data:image\/png;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAD\/ACwAAAAAAQABAAACADs=\" alt=\"2022 Ford Bronco Raptor\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" data-width=\"1024\" data-height=\"768\" data-url=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/lrg\/2022-ford-bronco-raptor_100867349_l.jpg\" data-src-h=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/hug\/2022-ford-bronco-raptor_100867349_h.jpg\" data-src=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/lrg\/2022-ford-bronco-raptor_100867349_l.jpg\" data-src-l=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/lrg\/2022-ford-bronco-raptor_100867349_l.jpg\" data-src-m=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/med\/2022-ford-bronco-raptor_100867349_m.jpg\" data-src-s=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/sml\/2022-ford-bronco-raptor_100867349_s.jpg\" class=\"lazy\"\/><\/p>\n<p>2022 Ford Bronco Raptor<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>Miss: Drinks, a lot<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In what will surprise no one, the Braptor loves to drink fuel. It has EPA fuel economy ratings of 15 mpg city, 16 city highway, 15 combined. I\u2019m here to tell you those not-so-great numbers aren\u2019t realistic. Over the course of 227 miles of mixed suburban driving the Braptor averaged 13.2 mpg according to the onboard trip computer. This side of the Nissan GT-R, and essentially matching <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorauthority.com\/news\/1134915_review-update-2021-ford-f-150-raptor-levels-up-control-and-comfort\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the F-150 Raptor<\/a> with a larger, more powerful twin-turbo V-6, the Braptor\u2019s V-6 gets among the worst fuel economy I\u2019ve ever experienced in a production 6-cylinder in day-to-day driving. It might as well have a V-8, as that\u2019s similar fuel economy as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorauthority.com\/news\/1134985_review-update-2022-jeep-wrangler-rubicon-392-xtreme-recon-goes-on-offensive\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jeep Wrangler 392<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"image_wrapper\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" name=\"tccimg_100867291_m\" title=\"2022 Ford Bronco Raptor\" src=\"data:image\/png;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAD\/ACwAAAAAAQABAAACADs=\" alt=\"2022 Ford Bronco Raptor\" width=\"640\" height=\"425\" data-width=\"1024\" data-height=\"680\" data-url=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/lrg\/2022-ford-bronco-raptor_100867291_l.jpg\" data-src-h=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/hug\/2022-ford-bronco-raptor_100867291_h.jpg\" data-src=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/lrg\/2022-ford-bronco-raptor_100867291_l.jpg\" data-src-l=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/lrg\/2022-ford-bronco-raptor_100867291_l.jpg\" data-src-m=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/med\/2022-ford-bronco-raptor_100867291_m.jpg\" data-src-s=\"https:\/\/images.hgmsites.net\/sml\/2022-ford-bronco-raptor_100867291_s.jpg\" class=\"lazy\"\/><\/p>\n<p>2022 Ford Bronco Raptor<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>At $69,995, but $75,770 as tested thanks to graphics, optional wheels, leather-trimmed suede seats, and a keyless entry pad, the Braptor borders on seeming fairly priced for its capabilities out of the box. That is if you actually find one for the sticker price during these wild times.<\/p>\n<p>The Braptor is not in a class of one, but it\u2019s in rarefied air and feels like the most complete, and best package.
