Pricing and availability are subject to change.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Lego has announced its next automotive release, the Nissan Skyline <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/nissan\/gt_r\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:0;\">GT-R<\/a> from &#8220;<em>2 Fast 2 Furious<\/em>.&#8221; The 319-piece kit is part of the Speed Champions series, Lego&#8217;s line of officially licensed car kits.<\/p>\n<p>Like the car used in the movie, the kit is based on an R34-generation <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/tag\/nissan+skyline\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:1;\">Nissan Skyline<\/a>, built between 1999 and 2002. Lego&#8217;s version does a fairly good job of depicting the actual JDM <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/category\/supercars\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:2;\">supercar<\/a>. It&#8217;s instantly recognizable as an R34, especially with its squared-off headlights and iconic stagger-sized afterburner taillights. Overall, it&#8217;s one of Lego&#8217;s more accurate adaptations to the low-resolution medium of plastic bricks.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the base car, both the film and the plastic car have six-spoke <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/category\/aftermarket\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:3;\">aftermarket<\/a> wheels, a <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/1PAitws\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:4;\" rel=\"noopener\">body kit<\/a>, and gigantic wing on the trunk. There&#8217;s even a nitrous oxide bottle where the passenger seat should be. The kit also comes with a figure of <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/tag\/paul+walker\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:5;\">Paul Walker&#8217;s<\/a> Brian O&#8217;Conner, the series&#8217; cop turned street racer turned secret agent protagonist.<\/p>\n<p>Lego has offered other picture car kits, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3F69Ius\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:6;\">James Bond&#8217;s Aston Martin DB5<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3h3qa6v\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:7;\"><em>&#8220;Ghostbusters&#8221;<\/em> Ecto-1<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3VCLhvA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:8;\"><em>&#8220;Back to the Future&#8221;<\/em> DeLorean<\/a>. They&#8217;ve also made the <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3uvsoio\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:9;\">1969 Dodge Charger<\/a> from the original &#8220;<em>The Fast &amp; the Furious&#8221;<\/em> installment. Many of these have been sold in both smaller kits in the <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3FxVT9B\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:10;\">Speed Champions series<\/a>, and as larger standalone kits.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In 2019 an <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3HcrtLf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:11;\">R35 Nissan GT-R Nismo<\/a> became the first Japanese car licensed by Lego. They haven&#8217;t done much with the <a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/nissan\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:12;\">Nissan<\/a> relationship since (<a class=\"injectedLinkmain\" href=\"https:\/\/www.autoblog.com\/tag\/datsun\/\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:13;\">Datsun<\/a> 240Z, anyone?). Though the movie tie-in makes for good marketing, we&#8217;d prefer to see a regular Skyline GT-R kit without the Y2K-era graphics. Nevertheless, it makes a good addition to the many <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3Bd7tnG\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:14;\">Corvettes<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3Y5ajVV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:15;\">McLarens<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3HhJzvg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-ylk=\"elm:context_link;itc:0;pos:1;sec:donut-hole;cpos:16;\">Lamborghinis<\/a> they&#8217;ve already made.
