This and more, here at <em>Green Car Reports<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The U.S. Department of Energy on Monday confirmed a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greencarreports.com\/news\/1138120_doe-loan-battery-venture-backs-gm-ultium-ev-plan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">$2.5 billion federal loan backing GM\u2019s Ultium EV plan<\/a>. More precisely, it backs the construction of three Ultium Cells LLC battery plants, in Ohio, Tennessee, and Michigan, that will be producing large-format pouch cells for upcoming GM electric vehicles, from crossovers to pickups and delivery vans\u2014on the way to 1 million EVs annually by mid-decade.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"static-marker-video-player-primis\"\/><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Some <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greencarreports.com\/news\/1138122_2020-kia-niro-ev-recalled-for-power-system-defect\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kia Niro EV models have been recalled<\/a> for an issue that could allow coolant into the power control unit. Although less than 900 U.S. vehicles are affected, it\u2019s one that should get priority attention as it could lead to sudden stalling.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The IRS on Monday revealed some initial guidance on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greencarreports.com\/news\/1138123_irs-2023-ev-tax-credit-needs-reporting-from-automakers-sellers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">what it will need for EV tax credit compliance<\/a>, as revamped by the Inflation Recovery Act (IRA). In short: get ready for more paperwork.
