The automaker will also confirm the name of the vehicle at the show.<\/p>\n<p>A likely bet is a mid-size sedan that VW previewed in June with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorauthority.com\/news\/1135341_volkswagen-id-aero-concept-revealed\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ID.Aero concept car<\/a>. Versions for sale outside of China will be sourced from a Volkswagen Group plant in Emden, Germany.<\/p>\n<p>It will be based on VW Group&#8217;s MEB platform designed for mainstream EVs, and should span about 16.4 feet in length.<\/p>\n<p>The sedan will serve as the spiritual successor to the Passat, which bows out of the U.S. after 2022. A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorauthority.com\/news\/1029560_2023-volkswagen-passat-variant-spy-shots\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">redesigned Passat is being developed<\/a> for the rest of the world but is expected to be offered as a wagon only.<\/p>\n<p>VW has more ID EVs on the way. The U.S. finally gets the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorauthority.com\/news\/1137067_test-drive-review-volkswagen-id-buzz-ev-is-tripping-on-the-future\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ID.Buzz minivan<\/a> next year, and will probably also see a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorauthority.com\/news\/1132901_possible-volkswagen-id-8-test-mule-spied\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">three-row SUV<\/a> about the size of the current Atlas mid-sizer. A wagon version of the upcoming sedan is also a possibility, as is a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorauthority.com\/news\/1136171_2025-volkswagen-tiguan-ev-spy-shots\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">crossover about the size of the Tiguan<\/a>.
