It has a rotor diameter of 774 feet (236 meters) and a wind-swept area of 470,845 square feet (43,743 square meters) \u2013 the wind industry\u2019s largest.<\/p>\n<p>At 919 feet (280 meters), it\u2019s also the world\u2019s tallest wind turbine.<\/p>\n<p>The 379-foot (115.5-meter) blades were manufactured at Vestas\u2019 blade factory in Nakskov, Denmark:<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed alignwide is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<p>\n<iframe id=\"post-youtube-video-1\" title=\"Building the V236-15.0 MW\u2122 offshore turbine prototype | Episode 2 - The blades\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/EkdeYEm6J-Q?feature=oembed&amp;rel=0&amp;enablejsapi=1\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen=\"\">[embedded content]<\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>The prototype nacelle was developed and assembled at the offshore nacelle factory in <a href=\"https:\/\/odensehavn.dk\/lindoe-bliver-til-odense-havn-danmarks-stoerste-havn-aendrer-navn\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Lind\u00f8 port of Odense<\/a>. The test program for the generator, converter, and grid system integration has kicked off at the LORC test facility in Denmark.<\/p>\n<p>A single Vestas V236-15.0MW is capable of producing 80 GWh per year.
