Since holding the title in April,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/evannex.com\/blogs\/news\/is-tesla-s-stock-a-buy-while-down-50-on-the-year\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow sponsored\" aria-label=\"Tesla\u2019s stock (Opens PDF)\">Tesla\u2019s stock<\/a>\u00a0has dropped in value by more than\u00a060 percent, and bulls and bears both have their own versions of what the tech-forward automaker\u2019s future could hold.<\/p>\n<p>Tesla is largely responsible for bringing the electric vehicle into the public eye by introducing the Roadster as a potential option for buyers with sufficient battery range, speed and acceleration. Now the company has a full lineup of somewhat-affordable EVs for consumers, causing most legacy automakers to start scrambling to catch up.<\/p>\n<p>Legacy automakers are beginning to catch up, though Tesla still held a whopping 64 percent of the EV space\u2019s market share by the end of Q3. Although that will slowly drop as more and more EVs become available to consumers, as evidenced by a drop from 75 percent in the first quarter, Tesla may be well-poised to handle the oncoming wave of new EV options.<\/p>\n<p>In 2022, Tesla has sold 347,000 <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/tesla\/model-3\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\">Model 3<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/tesla\/model-y\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\">Model Y<\/a> vehicles combined, outpacing the <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/ford\/mach-e\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\">Ford Mustang Mach-E<\/a>\u2019s 28,000 units sold. Tesla\u2019s vehicles make up four out of six of the EV industry\u2019s current best sellers, including the <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/chevrolet\/bolt\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"1\" data-params=\"%7B%22make_alias%22%3A%22chevrolet%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%22bolt%22%7D\">Chevy Bolt<\/a> with just 22,000 units sold.<\/p>\n<p>Some think GM and <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/ford\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\">Ford<\/a> could surpass Tesla\u2019s EV market share, including analysts at Bank of America. Tesla\u2019s market share is currently projected to fall just 11 percent in North America by 2025, and onlookers predict EVs to represent around 10 percent of all cars in just a few years.
