And it wants people to know that.<\/p>\n<p>The thing is everyone familiar with Tesla is aware of this, yet the automaker felt the need to remind everyone how big it is in the Golden State in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tesla.com\/blog\/teslas-california-footprint\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">rare blog post<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Published on its website on January 3, the article is titled &#8220;Tesla&#8217;s California Footprint.&#8221; In it, the EV maker notes that it has grown from a long-shot startup founded 20 years ago in San Carlos to the state&#8217;s largest manufacturing employer with 47,000 employees in 2022 \u2013 almost half its global workforce \u2013 and <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/620123\/world-top-oem-ev-sales-2022q3\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"0\" data-params=\"%7B%22article_edition_id%22%3A%22620123%22%2C%22section%22%3A%221%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%22world-top-oem-ev-sales-2022q3%22%7D\">the world&#8217;s leading electric vehicle maker<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The automaker says this spectacular growth has been made possible by the &#8220;hard work of the Tesla team, the loyalty of our customers and climate policy leadership in California.&#8221; Apparently nowhere, but this may be an attempt to get on California&#8217;s and Californians&#8217; good side after Elon Musk&#8217;s antics \u2013 especially of the political kind \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/626369\/tesla-falling-out-of-favor-increasingly-partisan-survey\/\" data-inline-widget=\"internal-links\" data-type-id=\"0\" data-params=\"%7B%22article_edition_id%22%3A%22626369%22%2C%22section%22%3A%221%22%2C%22alias%22%3A%22tesla-falling-out-of-favor-increasingly-partisan-survey%22%7D\">have antagonized many Tesla fans in the Golden State (and other blue states)<\/a>.
